Been looking forward to watching this. Nice project. I always get a gem or two to put in my personal bag of tricks from you. I did finally install spiral cutter heads in my Grizzly 20” planer and Grizzly 12” jointer. Planer, piece of cake, jointer, not fo the faint of heart! Ceramic coating going on all the cast tops when I get back out to the shop. P.S. keep the jointer guard active! Stresses me out seeing that swung out of the way. Until next time…👊

You came true for me on this one, just about at this point building a walnut top over our washer and dryer. Was thinking about how I was going to make it look thicker than four quarter with out having a glue line. and boom here I go. Thanks for the help.

Very nice job, counter tops look great. Question- Do you ever build counter tops from the corion type material? For sure you have both the ability and the proper tools to do it. And there is good money to be made.

Looks awesome. I really struggle with my wood moving overnight or after a couple days (hobbyist). Even after acclimating for days. Seems like after I rip my hardwood always starts to move. How do you handle that?

Love your content man! I am always learning something new. Just out of curiosity what HP is your saw? I am deciding between a 3HP and 4HP right now.

Hey Josh buddy glad you’re staying busy ! Sweet office desk ! I built a few of them however you must hv space to build them! Last one was for a group of hospice nurses and WOW ! Up two flights of stairs, made it knock down cause of my space ? I said no more and I pass them to a local cabinet maker like you. Hey someone turned me on to BRIWAX. It’s really a solid good looking , hard finish like gel but nicer ? ( for me anyway). Long miters ? Scary stuff!

Nice work- what clear coat do you use for the tops? 1/4 sawn White Oak is my favorite wood too-lots of "character".

Looks great. Awesome video. One question. Why didn't you cut the corner where the two desktops came together at a 45 degree so they kinda matched up. Maybe it wasn't possible. I don't know. Just asking. Love the video. Have a great week.

Question about your band saw. Did you replace the euro style guides with roller bearings? If so, did you notice an improvement in tracking and drift reduction?

And not to say you did anything wrong..but why didn't you do a mitered nosing on the returns and then pack them out behind the nosing? Was end grain on the end the look they were going for? Doesn't it look funny with the smaller end grain pieces seeing those glue seams?

Looks great! How did you connect the two countertops? I didn't see any connectors and figure there's got to be something to keep them aligned over time. Thanks!
@troyqueen9503

Probably the Lamello connect system.

Nice desk. Have you ever encountered the kreg foreman pushing your material to the side as your drilling for pocket holes?

do you set the lamello to just go up against the edge of your carcass and face frames so they line up? I've been clamping mine together, making marks, and then using those for aligning the lamello, which is seeming unnecessary after watching this. It came out awesome!

I’m wondering the same thing here. How do you layout for the Lamello mortise cuts if the plywood isn’t going to sit flush with the edge of the face frame? Thx

Really curious why biscuits/dominos weren't used for alignment on the countertop? With it being so large, I'd assume there would be a greater concern on the chance for movement. But maybe Im missing something?

What's your take on mitering the corner of the top of the desk. I noticed you used a simple butt joint.

Would need a really square room on that large of scale for the tops to sit well against the walls, unless there were plans to scribe it.

Beautiful except the stain reminds me of 90s furniture. Especially since it's quarter sawn what a waste.

Dollar dollar bill 💵. Do you have to mess with your grizzly sliding table saw to keep it square? I have the same one and don’t use it much. Seems to always be out of square. I get it right then it goes out.

Get a Felder slider, mine has never moved in 4 years! I check on a regular basis with a 3 cut method and I’m always within 4-6 thousands of an inch in 48 inches. It’s a great slender!
