Love the way you Faith the aging process. Using the paint stripper and then rinsing it off before it had enough time to fully strip the paint off. Was excellent. Like the way you Wheels halfway off and messed up the front grill to make it look like it's been sitting out outside in a dirt for years. But why don't you just show us the whole process to begin with instead of trying faking all that stuff. We would like to see it from the beginning. You can still mess it all up if you want to would, we just like to see you do it. If we're not fools we know what you're doing

Definitely the fake aging. Looks like this model was found on a coral riff next to the Titanic. My exact same 1/18 Burago diecast model from the early 80s is still in a pristine status. Ranges from 20 to 100 (the rip-offs) bucks on eBay.

If i didn't know better , I'd say you used a scabby old bit of mesh as the "before" grill to make the whole car seem worse than it was , because that one you put back in was a remarkably good fit

finishing a hike in dead horse point state park when I saw a 1959 testarossa drive past me. It was a group of testarossa owners who meet every five years to drive their cars around a specific area. I went to look at the 59 testarossa and then the 57 testarossas started to arrive. one after the other. there were 6 or 7 in total. my favorite car and they were in immaculate condition. what a day.

this is a KZbin relevant video (mostly in the sense so that people get a better gripe of what my mechanics can do, lol.) -- the exhaust pipes didn't turn out too great, IMHO. pro tip: you've to straighten the wire before you work with it. you do so by bending one end and putting it into a vise and wrap the other end around a pair of pliers while simultaneously squeezing it by starting between the prongs.) then you use your whole bodyweight and lean back and hold the pliers like a handle of a waterski rope; when you now tug on the whole thing, it'll stretch some and become super straight at the same time. you cut the middle piece out et voilà, you've a perfect starting piece. -- this video leaves out many steps; it remains a mystery how all the non-body parts where fixed/made.

Only one thing. This is NOT a model of the Ferrari Testarossa introduced in 1984, but it represents the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, so called because of cam covers painted in red, a tradition shared with other models. at 1:19 on the bottom, under the Ferrari logo it can be read "250 Testa Rossa (1957)"

No, it forms a granular layer of white Al oxide. Though I suspect this was made of a zinc alloy, and that doesn't corrode. Ohhh ...I just got that! Good luck ;-)

Great job all around. Wonderful restoration. However the windshield did not come out right. Needed a little more work to be more concave. And the muffler tips were too long. Other than that it looks great. Sometime it helps if you look for pictures of the original full scale car to see how some of the pieces looked in large scale.

Dit is geen restauratie; maar een orgineel model verpieteren. Als je bij een echte auto de orginele randen gaat vlakvijlen dan is niet orgineel meer. Dit geld ook voor een modelauto. Ja kan hem wel mooi polijsten maar dan is het ook goed. De carrosserie in gegoten, (whitemetal).De deur is gemaakt van een stukje metaal, .Een stukje tin van een oude tinnen pot was beter geweest. Ik zeg niet dat het niet mooi gemaakt is, maar noem het beslits geen retauratiie, want juist bij modelauto,s is orginaliteit heel belangrijk. Trouwens 900 dollar is 870 te duur .

Historical context: This is not a 1984 Testa Rossa. Watch an episode of ‘Miami Vice’ and you’ll see the huge difference. This model is patterned after the original, legendary Testa Rossa from the 1950s that helped create the Ferrari mystique!
