this magnetising current is the reason for core loss, this value how much percentage is acceptable in a transformer?
@AKELECTRICPOWER3 жыл бұрын
It is the initial test ( first step ) to suspect the core defect & core loss ( required additional formulas and calculation) , with this test one can not finalize about core loss ( Hysteresis & Eddy current loss) or even Copper loss. In Site, Open & Closed circuit test have to perform for identify the loss of Transformer with respective formulas. In factory some more tests required. And about percentage, Excitation Current should not be more than 30% (Gulf Country) as compared to previous test result or factory test result. This percentage may differs according to country and Transformer manufacturer. If one don't have previous test result or factory test result then you can follow the criteria shown in this video.That is test report observation is required, for that you can check in this video. Thank you,,,,

@@AKELECTRICPOWER Now I just understand this, it's just current create some flux.but this property utilised for finding some faults during initial commissioning. Thanks for your response, easy way to explain things.

@AKELECTRICPOWER2 жыл бұрын
Dear Hi, 1. Central Limb and Outer Limb were not related to Tap Changer. It is related to Phase. 2. IU & 1W are taken as Outer Limbs where as 1V is taken Central Limbs 3. Red Phase and Blue Phase were considered as outer Limb. Yellow Phase is considered as Central Limb 4.Inside Transformer, Core structure will be accordingly I hope your doupt will be clear. Thank You

@AKELECTRICPOWER2 жыл бұрын
Dear Hi, 1. Outer Phases that is RED Phase & BLUE Phase has a Very Long Magnetic Path than Middle Phase that is YELLOW Phase. Because of this concept Middle winding will has lower magnetizing current 2. Simply you imagine, Path length for the Middle Phase is less where as Outer phases will have more path length. 3. we can't predict that R phase current will be high as your senior said. In our video I have shown you first two test report for Transformer with 27 Tap Position & Transformer with 17 Tap Position .In those two test report you can Observe that Blue Phase current is high then other phases. Both Transformer's were from First Quality Transformer with Prestigious Brand. That why I am telling we can't say R phase current should be higher. Thanks, AK ELECTRIC
