Love the gravelly voice. You sound like an old man who has drank and smoked a lot. Looking forward to a Thundercracker KO. I bought the official of the Starscream, but I just don't feel the figure is worth the price Takara is charging. As always, the review is appreciated, and highly enjoyed. Take care Ben.

I look forward for TakaraTomy to get to work on a G1 toy-accurate repaint and retool of the MP-52 G1 Starscream mold. G1 toy-accurate MP-52+ Starscream can have the G1 toy-accurate robot head and the G1 toy-accurate paintjob, complete with printed-on G1 toy Starscream-accurate stickers.

How can i tell if im buying an authentic one or KO? What are the differences between boxes etc Would love to know!

The production stamp on the boxes is an easy sign. The authentic is a post stamp while the KO is a print pre-fab stamp if they have any. Also the tabbing quality on the KO is not as good as the original in general but there have been some breakage on the original as well.

I got my ko mp52 starscream looks good apart from missing the left sliding knee peice the seller sent me a replacement so all is well an excellent figure.

Its so hit and miss with these KO like QC is not to important to these companys but ive been spoilt lately were i forgot as i got a MP39 sunstreaker and it was amazing every fitted and worked and even looked top draw the paint was spot on i think i got about 4 ko,s that i had zero 0roblem with so i got the MP44 that also was amazing for about an hour and its leg fell off . It took 2 day trail and error until i got a fix i was happy with

Sorry about the MP-44 KO but that's the thing with KOs, they reverse engineered the toy so the fittings from the mold may not fit perfectly. These seeker KOs are what's on my shelves with the original tucked away.

its that tight nose cone rotation that annoyed me with the original, had to dunk it in hot water - i hope this version and the other one would loosen that up...great review 😊

I would paint or difuse the eyes (use a nail file or something to rough them up at the back).

1 thing that bothers me with this particular mold is the hands andhow they decided to do the thumb. The way it goes i cant make a decent fist. I cant either do a pointing pose because the thumb is in the way ruining everythng, and the typewriter hands are not made to do a convincing pointing pose, and it cant even do a thumbs up pose because the joint you require to do that isnt there in the first place, and its making me frustrated every time i try doing something involving the hands. X(

Yes, the thumb was a prick at first but the overall design and aesthetic won me over... there are some not-so-good qualities on this mold but there's more pros than cons.

is there anyway how to know if you have a real one like comparing a ko box to a authentic one?

Usually there is like the production stamp on the bottom of the box. Also, the toy imagery is not as sharp but this might not be noticeable to the unknowing or untrained eye. The words and logos are usually text-based and not scanned, so sometimes you can see tiny differences in the spacing or placement of the texts but again, very hard to pin point the real from the fake with these.

I'll get the Eagle EG-01 version. They claim to have made improvements, instead of just copying everything. It's a bit cheaper that this one too. Get well soon, man.
