Thank You very much very good video and excellent and clear explanation of the topic.

The main reason is to make primary side with tick copper winding and secondary side with thin copper winding because of law of resistance. If copper winding will tick then current will flow easily in all winding turns due to bigger area of conductor hence resultant output current will be maximum .But in contrast secondary winding in step up transformers keeps with thin copper material is to get less current at secondary side because in thin copper winding current can not flow easily in all winding turns due to smaller area of conductor compare to primary side hence the resultant total current will be less then compare to primary current. This is the principle of step up transformer that primary side contain low voltage but high current and secondary side contain high voltage with low current to control line losses and to reduce expense of copper or aluminium wires for distribution purpose.

Abhishek Majumder two stroke engine also can run generator.. as a sample u can see detroit diesel engine in generator..they usually use the 2 stroke diesel engine in their product..tq

In step up voltage tranformer ,why secondry is made with thin copper winding and why primary is made with thick copper winding explain plzzz?
@TekCroach10 жыл бұрын
Stepping up means the secondary side has higher voltage than the primary. The higher the voltage goes, the lower the current goes (because the product of Voltage and Current (VI) is a constant). Lesser current means thinner wires. You must remember that Vpri x Ipri = Vsec x Isec (input power = output power).

+Mani Chaitanya becouse of the value of current in hv side the value of cuurent will be low for that reason we use thin copper and the oppsite on low voltage side

how much MVA rating of a 500kv/132kv step down transformar? plz reply
@tylerminix20286 жыл бұрын
You must have some current information. If you can physically see the transformer, the MVA rating will be on the nameplate. There's not enough information in the HS and LS voltage ratings to determine the MVA.

Got to disagree with the taps. If you change tap on the high side the low side also changes. this is done so your load remains the same . I've changed enough to know.
