It’s so interesting that that they’re planning on releasing the Combaticons with such large time gaps between releases when they specifically said that they wanted Devastator components to come out pretty close to each other to avoid the Breakdown problem again🤔🤔

The early release of Vortex may indicate Hasbro is building space to release the Defensor Combiner Team within the Generations Prime toy line, in addition to Superion, Bruticus and Nexus Prime.

I'm not sure if they will be able to pull off Defensor anytime soon. But I think the Superion and Bruticus are possibly the Maximus kind hence the idea of Nexus coming in Prime. If they want to at least make Defensor or any other combiners like Road Caesar, Landcross, and maybe a proper Liokaiser, then I must say they should do something good about it. The three Brainmasters could be either deluxe or voyager. But I guess they could also release the Motorvators as well as Selects. In terms of Landcross, to save up on costs and engineering, we could expect a more simplified approach akin to Siege Skytread, an idea that should've been done sooner. Otherwise, they can go the same deluxe route but it will leave us with a commander sized combiner. The same goes for Liokaiser, six figures across the first three waves, would work out better than say, Volcanicus (we are not ready yet for a Generations Cyberverse Volcanicus set though). Releasing Vortex doesn't mean a possible Blades is coming soon after.

I think this further cements they're going to do Nexus Prime by the end of the Prime line. They need a copter bot for one of his limbs. And Superion/Bruticus gives them all the limbs they need (with some retooling to get an A-10 alt mode for one of them).

Has Vortex ever been depicted independently of the Combaticons? I know Swindle, Brawl, and Onslaught have been independent to various degrees, but I don't think Blast Off or Vortex have been. I was all but convinced the listing for Swindle was going to be the TF Animated version, but Vortex more or less confirms the whole G1 Combaticon team for me.

Nexus Prime better be a mix of Aerialbots and Bruticus. As for an updated Bruticus Maximus/Superlink Bruticus, I'm excited for this!

Unless they are going for that route. I can see how they will pull off all the stops for the Maximus trio and Nexus Prime. Oh wait, if they are going to release the Aerialbots next year, presumably, I could make a guess they will make them the Energon Universe ones. Vortex and Swindle are likely the Energon ones as well since they did not specify if it's G1 again. If ever that is going to be a smart choice for the designers to go the Maximus route, then Nexus Prime will not be much of a problem in Generations Prime.

@@Zyugo Thanks for mentioning Nexus Prime! he's my favorite of the bunch! because you need seperate sets in order for him to become the first combiner, i will also be pleased if these are Energon/Superlink combiners too, we already have G1 versions of them under in Unite Warriors (NOT Combiner Wars)

I would prefer bruticus over devastator, all deluxe figures except onslaught, means cheaper than studio series constructicons. I can do that and save money. I think silverbolt and onslaught would have to be leader class, cant have two commander classes. Besides, there are two missing leader classes on wave 3, could be them, could not

The Bombshell and Ramhorn are pretty cool, kinda funny they're packed together since BW Ramhorn was a Rhino beetle. Vortex is cool, but weird we're getting listings for him and SS Elita-1 months after the others.

I'm hoping Vortex look good cos I used to have the G1 version as a kid so I may get him for nostalgia sake like I did with Dead End (well ok I bought the G2 version cos the Legacy version was a fast seller)!

Aerialbots and 1 Combaticon in 2025. Does this mean with the offset, that 2026 would have the 3 deluxe Combaticons and 1 Protectobot while 2027 will finish off the Protectobots? Then will we get the Technobots and Terrorcons after that for 2028 and 2029?

That would be awesome, but the last two were pretty good in CW. I'll still get them if true but my shelf space and wallet will have a hissy fit.

Not a popular opinion, but that Bombshell epitomizes my dislike of cartoon/screen accurate colors (actually, all the insecticons do). They look flat and boring. Before anyone jumps on me, I like the G1 cartoon. But the animation models look good only when they're in motion. You don't have time to notice how plain they are. But when they are static, they are dull. And yes, I understand that they needed to be simplified because they needed to be drawn repeatedly, and there were deadlines. That having been said, the Ramhorn looks pretty good. Not because of the screen accuracy, but because of the symmetry of both sides of the figure. That was always a bit of a bugbear for me as a kid. The humanoid, bird, and bat cassettes had their tape details on their backs, but the cat, rhino, and dinosaur cassettes had theirs on one side of their bodies which spoiled the illusion. Of course, the downside of the screen accurate version is that it doesn't look as much like an actual cassette when in alt mode. Sorry for the rant, but the insistence on screen accurate coloration for the toys has been getting to me lately. I prefer my toys to have the detail and vibrancy that the original toys had (granted, mostly through decals), and the screen colors don't do that for me. Greatest example I can give is the Missing Link Optimus Prime. Everything that was a decal was painted on the toy accurate version, and most of that was not on the screen accurate one. Just do a side by side look at both in robot mode and decide which one is more vibrant/detailed for oneself. Now, animate the screen accurate one, and it won't matter. Sorry, again, for taking up so much time and space. I'm not trying to start an argument, just wanted to get my viewpoint out there. Thank you. (Rumble's red, Frenzy's blue! 😝🤪😁)

ramhorn looks good. I'm surprised they are releasing a combaticon next year after saying they want to avoid another breakdown situation, but im happy to be getting the combaticons and I wonder why swindle is being delayed and why vortex is first

I'm so tired of G1 accurate colors. It's partially why I'm not crazy about the studio series Optimus Prime. I would like his shins to have some silver. I think it looks cooler.

3 combiners next year?... Oh my wallet was already hurting with the Masterpiece Gin-Ryes, and 2 combiner teams. But now 3 combiner teams, and masterpiece God Bomber sets too. I think my wallet just committed sebbaku. Too many expensive goodies next year.

Well really only 2 combiners, the rest of Bruticus will be in 2026
