I loved the music from season 3 but agree that it wasn't the best animation or story. Still, it's ten times better than the junk they put out today.

Rodimus was a flawed leader. This made him a more complex character than Optimus. Many often go on about how seasons 3 and 4 were not as good as the originals, but I think the writing and character development aspects were improved. Galvatron's madness, Rodimus' imperfections, everything was much less black and white, and I think that gave the series a more mature feeling. Probably why most kids didn't like it.

Rodums Prime is such a downer. "Oh all is lost." "Without him we are doomed" "oh woe is me." "oh I wish I were like Optimus." ugh and they wonder why this season and this replacement of Optimus were such a disappointment? If I were First Aid I would have run away too to get away from Rodimus' constant complaining.

@ErwicktheFigg His name was Hot Spot, and he transformed into a Mitsubishi Fuso firetruck, so he wasn't the same make as Optimus Prime or Ultra Magnus who both transform into LLC Cab-over-engine Class 8 trucks. You can check him out on wikipedia by searching for "Hot Spot Transformers."

That would make sense, except here's what I'm thinking. Defensor is used for rescue operations, hence the Protectobots being instructed to catch the train. While the Aerialbots are mostly for combat. To have Superion save the train, then go after Trypticon would be too much. So instead it would be wise to have one group save the train while the other take on Trypticon, especially since one group has the disadvantage of one less arm.

While they were not the most popular of the combiner Autobots, my favorite combiner was the Protectobots. I always wanted to see a Protectobots-Defensor v. Stunticons/Menasor. To me, that would have been who they normally faced off against. I guess a failed attack by Menasor against Defensor will have to do.

@viceversaDNB I agree the series became a witbit darker I really enjoy parts of season 3-4 for this same reason...5-12 years dont understand this concept...of shadesof gray...which is what we see in the real world

Season 3 was never my favorite either. I didn't mind the change in cast so much as the leap in time.They should have tried keeping it during the present day. I actually liked the Joseph Campbell like ascention of Rodimus Prime in TF: The Movie, but felt that the writers really dropped the ball in his and Galvatron's characterization in the series.

I think Menasor and Defensor are about even. Raiden might have been the strongest Autobot combiner/gestalt (Japanese G1 show "Headmasters"), whereas Predaking is probably the strongest for the Decepticons, though Liokaiser has the CRAZIEST powers. PLOT convenience will kill or defeat ANY character though--including Lio...

Give me your honest opinions please! I was disappointed by some of Transformers 2, and started writing a fan fiction. I wanted to include some of my favorite characters, and also my custom autobot from the DS game. My autobot's name is Hacker, and his vehicle form is the ambulance. I wanted to have the constructicons rebuilt, and have them face another combiner...so I thought of having my character replace First Aid, and replace Groove and Streetwise with Prowl and Blurr.

And there is the thing that Brawl makes up a leg, while First Aid makes up an arm. Seriously, could you guys imagine Bruticus trying to do battle while hopping around on one foot? While the concept of switching parts didn't come till much later in Robots In Disguise (well, Scramble City as well), it would have worked better for the Combaticons (as proven in Robots In Disguise).

I dunno, there was never a size comparison between the four giant base Transformers. While it's probably true that they are all roughly the same size, I feel the Headmaster bases were bigger than the Season 3 bases.

this is the first time that a g1 comebiner well the protecto bots transform in to defensor without firstaid being round defensor seam to do real good with out firstaid but they need him to make defensor coumplet after the rebirth hasbro should of keep the show going after the head masters but no that is wher japanese toke over that sucks they mess up the transformers

Without First Aid, would Defensor only have 4/5 of his mental capacity, or would he actually perform better since it would be that much easier for the members to decide on an action?

Rodimus sucks at being a prime. I'm glad Season 3 was the end for the US. Ung... the show sucked after that.

Wrong. There were only 3 full seasons. And in the official 4th season there was only 3 episodes and that was one big story to launch the season and then the show was canceled. Fortress Maximus made his 1st appearence in 5 Faces of Darkness which was the first episode (a 5 parter) after the movie, and was the Season 3 season premiere. He continued to appear throughout season 3 and was not seen in any other season.
