Tbh they kinda got too much screentime. The problem w/ TLK was lack of tension because autobots were hardwinning throughout the movie. One thing id change is having Grimlock lose to Megatron in a 1v1 but Megs would still have to back off from combined autobot forces. Its just kind of weird how Megatron cant even defeat the autobots when they dont even have Optimus

Hong Kong is also destroyed in Godzilla vs Kong And Dr Strange albeit technically the dmg was reversed but it was destroyed at some point. Imagine if they appear in Revenge of the Fallen? They would serve as protectors for the Matrix, in the tomb it was hidden in. Instead of the twins, they would be the ones to fight Devastator & be the ones to defeat him. They would later appear again in Dark of the Moon, where instead of the Wreckers, they guard the Xanthium, with Epps as their petsitter. They along the Autobots would charge into Chicago, taking out every Decepticon they seen. It would be awesome to see them against the Driller beast. While it would be funny to see Dylan getting eaten by Grimlock, which would make the audience laugh that someone finally got what they deserved. They still appear in these two films. With Lockdown tracking them to an island they been living in peace since Chicago, as a homage to Animated. Optimus would be glad they are ok, as they’re now prisoners on Lockdown’s ship, before escaping. The Last Knight should give them more screen time. Like having them appear when the Decepticons were at the Stonehenge, where they attacked by the military. Some interactions with the Knights of Iacon, which would be interesting. As well them helping the Autobots to stop Quintessa & Megatron. While seeing them with Dragonstorm, helping Optimus to defeat Infernacus, before charging into the power chamber.
