alien attack made a proper dino figure this year to scale with other deluxes, also takara made a sideways repaint with dinos head and weapons. It sucks that we never got dino in the dark of the moon line. That leigon class figure was horrible.

Its a nice blend of old and new ironhide. In my opinion, the limited articulation on the shoulders is alright for him: he must have had a shoulder or collar injury that crippled him, he must have also been hit badly in the torso if it is now loose. Do you see it? Ironhide survived through the worst injuries and experience in war, and this figure represents all the wounds that will not stop him from fighting in the war. That's why I like him.

Awesome review man, and really cool looken figure! I have the rescue ratchet, so I gotta get this when it hits the States. Hahaha!! Looked like you were gonna lose your shit for a second there. I love the difficult transformations. Dig the puzzle thing, even when it gets frustrating as all hell!

Thanks for the review! I just opened this guy last night and he was pretty intuitive to transform (without those accursed Hasbro instructions!), except for how his legs fold up into him to get into alt mode. That was a bit tricky! Thanks for showing me how to do that! I wasn't sure how much I liked him at first because he is pretty fiddly, but playing around with him today, I find I like him more and more. Thanks again for another great review and well-done demo!

@fxfranz Well, I'm a collector of both... I have 2007 black voyager and ROTF Recon Ironhide, both black and I like the black on him, but at the same time I do like the way the red looks. Do you have the black DOTM Ironhide? If so, which would you prefer between the two? Great review by the way.

the chest does lock in actually.. i never had a problem with before poping out.. the only problem i had with this figure were the arms i guess being kinda small/weird articulation... other than that tho i thought this figure was alot better than the 07/roft version .. however i do wish it came w/ normal lookin canons on his arms =P alot of give and take!

I like pushing his front wheels more into his chest where the sides are diagonal to the body.

i have been playing with it and its possible to make awesome poses, and the wheels on the chest can be rotated alll the way inward, making him look better "sorry my english" and he is not as bad as i though first, thats why when i saw this repaint i loved it XP

Nice video review. Regarding the shoulder and chest issues, there's a minor chest mod using the clear rubber bands that come with the figure. Available on the TFW2005 forum - search for Ironhide Rubberband mod As for the Shoulder, it requires a bit of a next level modder skill using a soldering iron to remove the peg from the shoulder and turning the connector the other way around. There's also the wheel switch that could help. Regards. ;)

This review was hilarious!! As for the figure, I think its decent. The reason I say this is because it is too small for my taste for a voyager figure, and because those arms are so strange. I do like the g1 homage paint scheme though.

people if u dont like the voyager ironhide but u like the g1 paint sceam if u go on website called tfwould2005 there is images of the new dotm leader class ironhide mold but it has the g1 paint sceam also the same for hftd leader class starscream.

I noticed a glitch in the figure. by turning the wheels all the way instead of partial, and flip the an tab forward, then push the whole front down until it pops into place. its on my vid for him when I upload it on Tuesday.

Hopefully some third-party will make a G1-accurate head sculpt for this figure. I agree,the red could' have been a darker red, matching the G1 Ironhide colors. Funny, I passed on the original DotM Voyager Ironhide, but I like this figure because the colors are so different from the past Ironhide figs.

The chest is a little bit of a pain to lock but it does indeed lock into place (I'm referencing my black Voyager Ironhide here, haven't seen this one yet). Just takes a little work. :)

I feel your frustration. I have the Ironhide Black mode and I thought it would have had more articulation. Sad really how cheap hasbro has gotten and how much smaller he is in the size scale
