Ngl my dude, we don't know what he really was back then, he could've been a really popular douche or an actual messiah but we don't have proof of that. And by proof I mean at least physical evidence. Example would be the 1st copy or semi-original piece of the bible non-translated, I wouldn't mind learning Hebrew or whatever middle eastern language it was in, it would be a nice lesson for me and many others, practically solving some of the problems with the gospel. Another thing, faith can only go so far, it may also transform into pride of one's self and comparison to jesus, god or anyone else. And from what I've read and heard from the many churches, thats a sin. Religon isn't perfect, it's got some very prominent flaws in it, but only bc it's traditional and not fully of one's choice. And in my opinion, not really sure as a fact or plain statistic, if the church really stayed to being meek and humble and not of one that pushes their ideas into people's lives and morals, and as well not diddle kids, then it would be get a slim more respect from the average person.
