Wow I forgot about the fort max back of the box art. Nostalgia seeing that again in it's original format I first laid eyes on it. Seeing Skullcruncher and Mindwipe makes me wonder what a Dinobot style headmaster set would look like. I love the chunky robot style. Weirdwolf of course as well.

Never had an original G1 version of this guy, or any of the G1 Headmaster figures actually, but this KO would be a nice substitute for sure. It looks great, as does the box he comes in... Skullcruncher is my favorite of the Decepticon regular Headmaster characters, so it's nice to see him appear in the various media. A few years back, Hasbro released G1 style boxing with re-issues of several of the Titans Return deluxe scale Headmaster figures... can't remember off the top of my head which one's there were, but I believe there were 5 of them(?), modern TR figures in G1 style boxes... Seems like it was Skullcruncher, Mindwipe, Hardhead, Chromedome, and Highbrow maybe it was...? (Maybe someone can correct me if that's inaccurate... since mine are in storage at the moment and I can't check them...) Speaking of Skullcruncher KO's, and the TR version of the character... I would highly, HIGHLY recommend picking up the Oversized KO of the TR Skullcruncher figure... They made some nice improvements over the deluxe TR version, including some die-cast parts, forearm covers to cover up the hollow arm bits in bot mode, and I believe they even fixed the rear gator legs to fold inside the robot feet in bot mode, which Hasbro did not do... he's freaking huge in gator mode, as if the deluxe wasn't a large gator already, and stands over 6" in bot mode, so he was a larger voyager class size before Hasbro downscaled voyager class slightly in recent years, and only costed about $15 for a bigger figure... That was $5 LESS for a 6" voyager sized figure than Hasbro wanted for their 4" deluxe figures at the time, AND it was better engineered with at least equal or better plastic quality... That Skullcruncher KO is one of my favorite figures from that era of Transformers... The same company also released an OS/KO version of TR Hardhead, Hightower, and Chromedome, I believe, possibly even Mindwipe, but I only got Skullcruncher, Hardhead, and Hightower in that OS/KO format... I felt like those 3 warranted the larger scale, but Chromedome was a car, and the deluxe was good enough, so I didn't bother with the OS/KO version... I did pick up a double set of those 3, so I could have a voyager class custom of the Aligatorcon Optimus Prime, and I also painted the extra Hardhead blue and gray, to make a voyager class sized version of Fortress Maximus before he was upgraded into a city, and swapped the heads from Highbrow and Hardhead to create that Fort Max custom, since the Highbrow head was pretty close and matched the aesthetic pretty well... Anyway, just thought I'd share. As always, I enjoyed the video!

Hey my Skullcruncher just came today. They definitely got tight joints. I'm not sure if his back legs rotate a little? I don't wanta force and break them. He looks very nice. I don't have any original to compare .

The back legs can rotate, though there's no purpose to that. And since the joints are tight, I wouldn't even try turning them.

@ToySpotlite only thing I noticed is his head fits a little loose, what do u say about it? I don't have any original Skullcruncher to compare.

@@ToySpotliteyes. Only thing I notice with Skullcruncher is Grax fits kinda loose in him when he's the head of the toy in Robot mood. What do u say on yours? I can't compare to an original.

Captain Kyle:“His “trainer” sits inside his mouth….” Me:”Who the hell does this “trainer” think he is putting himself in that gator’s mouth?!? Does he think he’s Stever Irwi…….. err…. I mean does he think he’s Siegfried and Ro…..err….. I mean does he think he’s Joe Dirt?!?!”

Wait a tic...I'm pretty sure they did reissue him along with Mindwipe and weird wolf. It was so gosh darn long ago it's not even funny, and I swear I've seen the reissues on ebay all the time when I do a search on them. Obviously not to be confused with the repainted reissues in G1 styled packaging of coarse. Unfortunately those will appear on the search if you're not searching specifically for the vintage ones, or at least as much if you are trying to avoid reissues. [the titan return versions in G1 packaging reissues I ment will pop up too on searches.]

Give us your assessment of the plastic quality when you do these KOs.

Feels like the same quality as the original.

Where can I purchase these 'reissues'? Also anyone know where I can purchase the Masterpiece transformers?
