Oh my god, this is amazing. I thought I was done with Transformers because the Prime aesthetics were not my thing, and the newer Generation toys looked like they were made with cheap plastic. But this, this one is just AMAZING.

Just got mine today and he is every bit as awesome as the review says. I have Blitzwing and actually like him despite the stupid design flaw in his shoulders, but Springer absolutely blows him away. The only minor flaw I have with him is that his feet do not have ankles, and his default standing position kind of looks like his knees are bent back a little.Otherwise, this is one of the best Transformers I own and I'm extremely happy with him.

Found him at Target on Saturday - and holy crap he's awesome. A couple pegs like to pop out a bit (esp his right shoulder area, seems the peg is a bit too big and gets "pushed" out if it's not really pushed and held into place for a few seconds), but not enough to need alterations, or reduce my love of the figure. Just taking it out of the box made me say, "this is how Transformers should be. Damn."

Interesting how Defender was what everyone was raving about as the Springer that Hasbro would never give us, and now they've surprised us all by even surpassing that. So Hasbro does seem capable of making outstanding figures when they put the time into it...

no, the arms do clip into the bit of plastic containing the shoulder joint but other than friction there isn't anything holding it in place.

I was at a walmart and was about to by Beast Hunter Ultra Magnus. Until I found a WHOLE bunch of springers. This walmart still has a ton as of last Saturday. If your live near Lawrenceberg IN, go to the walmart there. That also have Blitzwing, a lot of the generations foc deluxes, and whatnot.

This toy doesn't tab together well in several places, but mostly still holds modes together alright. Robot mode is cool. Head (during transform) and gun (during attachment to heli) are prone to major plastic wear... Kind of a collection of QC/tooling issues really.

I will definately get both triplechangers as soon as they will be available in Europe. THey are my very favorite characters of all time. Original 1986 Bkitzwing was my very first transformers toy, got him even before I first saw the cartoon, so he has a special place in my heart :) And Springer instantly become my very favorite one, when I first saw the cartoon, it was "Five faces of darkness" episodes :) So I absolutely have to have them both :)

This figure looks so awesome! I've been waiting for a good Springer figure since 2004 (when I got Season 3 of G1 for Christmas). Looks like they're finally making a figure that does him justice. It does look a little too skinny, but that's not that big of a deal. Good review :)

Hasbro has finally got they shit together. Just got Springer yesterday and in my opinion he is one of Hasbro's best transformers releases in years. Some 3rd party companies might be in trouble if Hasbro can keep this up with they prices.

I would probably go for Springer first, since he's more sought after, and harder to find. Plus, his whole sword gimmick is really cool. I myself am aspiring to be an aviator, so I can see what you mean on which one you should buy; I prefer jets myself, but like I said, Springer'll be harder to find so you might want to get him as soon as possible.

I have yet to see either of the triple changers in my area. For that matter, I have only seen one BH Shockwave, which of course I bought. I don't know if they just aren't shipping to my area yet, or if I have way more fellow collectors around as competition. I'm going out of state tomorrow, so fingers crossed.

Fist hole covers?! What is this Masterpiece? Nice review. Unlike some, see no issue in Springer and Defender sharing shelf. If some acknowledgement of identity is all THAT necessary, I say they're relatives. Plain and simple.

If I have no plans to display him in copter mode without using the gun, can you think of any reason I couldn't just remove the front landing gear? From the reviews I've seen, it just seems to kind of get in the way.

I can't help but wonder if it is possible to manipulate the transformation so that the Helicopter mode looks like "The Bat" from Dark Knight Rises. Since the car mode resembles the Tumbler so much and all. (\I I/)

Better than Blitzwing and Warbot Defender. One of my problems with Defender was that his sword was too small to form a helicopter rotor. Not the case here.
