TRANSFORMERS GRIMLOCK Generations Comic Edition Review

Transformers brings us the Generations Comic Edition Grimlock, commemorating his appearance in the comic book and his emergence from the Savage Land! This Grimlock uses the Studio Series mold and also includes swords for himself and two of his fellow Dinobots! Captain Kyle reviews it to see if this might be a crowning achievement for your collection.
The Dinobot Commander Grimlock was far different in the comic books and was the leader of all the Autobots for a time as well. Though he didn’t like the Decepticons, he actually didn’t go out of his way to hunt them down. And he certainly wouldn’t wear an apron and serve drinks! This edition of Grimlock comes with swords for himself, Slag (Slug), Sludge, and a gun and a crown! Captain Kyle goes through this special comic homage thoroughly.

Thank you for the shoutout for Buster Witwicky and the Carwash of Doom! I still love the Marvel issues and reread them about twice a year. I mainly bought this comic deco Grimlock just for the extra swords, initially. Swoop should be shipping soon, so then I can have red swords on everyone. And my OCD will be happy. He’s growing on me, I do love the colors, but unless they re-release all of them in the same deco, I probably wont display him with the SS86 Dinobots. He’ll go in storage.

I missed out on the OG mold. Right now I have the shattered glass with the rest of the dinos. Not sure to pick this one up since I like the colors or wait for a miracle re-issue. Then again power of the primes optimus got one for some reason.

Great Dinobot figures, but in keeping with the studio series cartoon colors it all looks very basic and bland. The comic grimlock proves with other alternate colors they can look alot more compelling. Maybe a toy color accurate edition with some Chrome could be planned later on. With Swoop though his blue really pops and his wings have a kinda metallic silver.

The blue parts ABSOLUTELY need a black wash. The shade of blue they used eats all the detail.

I have much more of a connection to cartoon grimmy, than comic Grimlock. Still, I LOVE and prefer comic Grimlock's colors! He makes studio Grimlock look 'bland' by comparison.

The reason grimlock is Blue in comic is because grimlock is hiding in the shadow and that make grimlock color blue in the shadow dark area.

Cell shade deco looks TERRIBLE and CLASHES with everything!!! Would you paint your own shadow black or the sheen on your skin white? No, no you would not, ever. Cell shade deco DOES NOT MAKE SENSE for a 3D object, AT ALL.
