I freaking love Megatron in this show. He's more than, "I'm evil and I'm gonna take over Cybertron," he's just doing what he thinks is best for cybertron because he wants a new age to come to life but his decisions are a price for him to pay as they come back to haunt him. And this scene is probably the one scene in this entire show that will make sense to people because of Megatron's character and his wanting to keep cybertron alive.

I really just don't understand why people say this show is SUPER BAD. No, it was decent, not perfect and not bad. All 3 seasons. Character writing was pretty good, story was cool. It's just another case of "No one hates the franchise more then it's fans". To be honest, I expected something MUCH WORSE from this show when I saw the first season trailer.

It has some flaws of course (like literally everything lol), but it's not that much, I can literally count them: 1) Animators laziness? (Megatron having desepticon emblem before he even became one, Skylinx has autobot emblem in the time when they didn't even exist) 2) Story before the show. It's not bad, but there is VERY little of it so everyone must fill that gap themselves based on the current story. 3) BW Megatron voice actor. Every voice actor did a good job with their characters, including Optimus'. I really liked his voice though, he has a pretty decent Peter Cullen impression (but he loses it when he tries to act super pissed lol, but overall it's fine). But BW Megatron sometimes was overacting, I think he could've done better. ..And that's it basically.

Why not, it's not his G1 voice, but we will just overlook it for some reason because we love shitting on how "not old voice" the acting of Optimus, Megatron or BW characters for example is. here's the difference between Galvatron and Megatron while Megatron is a tyrant he has constantly shown throughout the various incarnations that he does have the capacity for change and does have goodness in him. for example G1 (He does side with prime when needed) TFP (again he sides with prime to stop unicorn and he even turns his back on his old ways and exiles himself in the end) and TF armada where Megatron sacrificed himself to stop Unicron. Galvatron is just megatron with all that capacity for good snuffed out completely Unicron when he created Galvatron basically just turned Megatron into a one dimensional villain who is just evil for the sake of being evil.

@@J.Wolf90 BW Megatron was helping G1 Megatron to prevent Galvatron from existing. He fought for a better future and was forced to pick between two devils. Galvatron the worse Devil he knows all too well or Megatron the better of two evils he knows nothing about. As the show goes on the timeline shifts away from both the future he knows and the future he’s fighting for. Left outside of any timeline he’s familiar with he choses to fight alongside the other transformers from across space and time to save cybertron and the allspark. That’s a very dynamic character and he deserves more respect. Even the original 90’s BW Megatron was fighting so the predicons could have a better were their not oppressed and even he was initially unwilling to alter the timeline to much until he got desperate. Just like the new one.

This show honestly has my favorite portrayal of Galvatron, and I really like his relationship with Megatron. Megatron’s hatred of Galvatron means so many different things. It’s Megatron realizing what the path he’s taking will lead him to: abandoning his morals and becoming something far worse than what he has been fighting. It’s also a form of self-hatred, as Megatron sees the things he’s done and how they made the situation worse. I like this form of redemption for Megatron because it isn’t him joining the Autobots or 180ing his character, it’s him realizing that he lost sight of his original goal.

This Megatron is very interesting: he started as the stereotypical modern megatron in Siege, then he turned into a more demented and scarred in earthrise, until finally overcoming his dementia and fears in kingdom. One of the most interesting character development I’ve ever seen

This series took Megatron in ways I've longed to see him as not as an evil tyrant but as a slave turned king who is weighed down by his crown and forced to make hard choices Wish they gave him a FULL win here and had him kill his slave of a future self
