Oneof the thing I really like about Magmatron is that instead of being the combination of more well known dinosaurs like T-Rex, Plesiosaur, and Pterodactyl, he's comprised of a Giganatosaurus, a Quetzolcolatlus and an Elasmosaurus.

Iirc it’s because Gigan was the largest predator we discovered at that time. Quetzal was the largest flying dinosaur, and Elasmosaur had the longest neck of any sea dinosaur.

Fittingly, the word "Chimera" is not just the name of a mythical beast, but also an actual paleontology term used to describe questionable reconstructions that use the fossils of multiple different animals. Magmatron is a bit of both.

The closest thing to an aquatic dinosaur right now, that I am aware of, are the semi aquatic spinosaurids such as Baryonyx and Suchomimus. Also I pronounce Giganotosaurus differently than he did but I believe it's a word that has multiple correct pronunciations, like Neanderthal.
