Hopefully characters like Astrotrain, Sixshot, and Deathsaurus appear in the Transformers One sequel as Decepticons and they can be a case of "Remember the New Guy" as if they've been among the High Guard the whole time but weren't given spotlight.

@@thefirebrothers3739 One possible reason it would not fit into the film though is that Megatron in TFOne actually takes Optimus Prime seriously, he WANTS to kill Optimus as much as he wants to formally end the age of the Primes, whereas in the IDW 2019 continuity, Megatron only took Optimus seriously when that dude decided to give Cybertron to him, because he got paranoid that Optimus will eventually return and take over Cybertron anyway. That, or there's already the part where Megatron says "Prime" in a sarcastic manner.

Personally I think it would work if MT establish that he meant Optimus was stupid, just like how Orion was stupid. I just love the idea that Astrotrain is the train conductor and I find it fitting for him to be working with Sentinel similar to Airachnid. I also like that he’s depicted as giant size which I think should be the definitive modern depiction of him.

Astrotrain is a decepticon but he usually is depicted as dubious and backstabbing like starscream. In an episode in the g1 cartoon, he and blitzwing rebelled against megatron for power. Maybe in this continuity he only joined the deceptions to save his own skin.

8:05 I’m not going to lie in the holy comments when I say this, but I wish we had this scene in the movie over the original cuz to me, it feels more impactful than the original cuz we get to see the last bit of what is D-16 as he talks to Orion about how he enjoyed playing games with him, how his dreams was to become a boss, to just enjoy the work he does as a(dreadwing enters: MINERS!)..but then we see him just blast through Orion to kill sentinel and tell him that he made him this way as he lets him fall. That would’ve been painful to see on the big screen

That's actually, pretty clever. Having Astrotrain be the actual train that hauled the energon to the surface. And I can definitely see why they redid the scene where D-16 becomes Megatron. He comes off as too calm, too collected for someone about to become a full on war criminal. Makes more sense for him to not only be fully consumed with anger when he kills Sentinel, but also to take down Sentinel with his bare hands rather than needing to be helped by the other Decepticons holding him down (not to mention Starscream's manipulation), because otherwise it would fly in the face of his thesis being that he's strong enough on his own to lead and have others follow him. That being said though, maybe they could've still used the bit from Megatron explaining why he was content with his life as a miner during the downtime after escaping Sentinel's forces in the cave. Would've helped a little with the narrative whiplash Megatron's character got after getting his cog.

1:44 Interesting that they finally addressed how biological life exists on Cybertron. This ties in with Beast Machines when the Oracle informed Prime that "the seeds of the future lie buried in the past". And now we see that the seeds of the past came from other planets. The scientific term for this is transpermia but they wouldn't have been able to say that in the movie because of the obvious pun.

They didn't "finally" address how biological life exists on Cybertron. Beast Machines pretty firmly stated that Cybertron was an Organic planet prior to the Quintessons covering the original surface in factories and other industrial complexes. Remember, Beast Machines is canon to the G1 cartoon. And even then, G1 is the odd duck out where Cybertron wasn't *always* an inorganic Machine world.

I like the final version of the fall better, it shows how the crashout was invitable, while the storyboard one shows that even if D was calm, he was gonna still gonna do it, so he was already megatron even before pax got shot.

The scene where D-16 kills Orion feels a lot more painful here 😢, it's mainly about how tired and pained he looks when he talks about his dreams,and how he wished to go back to being happy yet what he knows now will make that forever impossible, I do think he didn't want to kill Orion but at that point he was too tired to care he just wanted Sentinel to suffer for taking their dreams,he doesn't know where to take his life from here onward besides taking revenge. And his response to Orion makes me wonder hypothetically if Orion didn't come back as Optimus(in his eyes another Prime who will tell false promises), I don't really see Megatron trying to lead Cybertron with the decepticons, I wouldn't be surprised if he were to just leave and be done with it,he didn't seem like he had that drive anymore. I'm kind of glad this scene isn't canon because of how painful it would've been 😢 Also Astrotrain bumping unwanted passengers will never not be funny❣️,and kind of interesting to see the High Guard trio (mostly Starscream)being a negative influence.

Technically they are. Even though he said "motherboard", I think it was the IDW comics that introduced "parents" on Cybertron, when a new Cybertronian is made, any two bots can volunteer to take care of it until it reaches "of age".

@@roger-sy6dl My issue with that statement is that nobody understands the fact that Megatron and Sentinel aren't the same. Megatron went on the wrong path due to a hatred and stereotype surrounding the primes, and Sentinel went on the wrong path due to wanting to BE a prime.

@@gianmarcoc7186 Megatron went down the wrong path because he wanted to inflict the same pain and suffering he experienced every day on his former tormentors, and he wasn't going to let anyone stop him, even if it meant ditching his own former friends (whom he was as personally betraying him for trying to deny his vengeance). Sentinel went down the wrong path because of pure greed and desire for power. In other universes, Megatron is also greedy and power-hungry, so in the end he really isn't any different from Sentinel.

Though both the animatic and official scenes are good in their own way, what I love about this version of the birth of Megatron is that you can see him hesitate and weigh the cost of killing Sentinel. To me, in this scene Orion Pax represents the common masses that were exploited and abused by Sentinel, getting in between him and Megs is him saying "You'll shed more of our blood than you wanted if you push through with this". Megs looks at the crowd, then at the High Guard and decides that yes, he's willing to bear the cost to persue his goals. There's no crime of passion, no accident, just cold resolution from someone steeling themselves to do something awful to get what they want.

I wish Megatron got a chance to get his Energon mace. A weapon like that would’ve kept him at least on better terms in combat against Optimus even if he was gonna lose in the end. But if he can’t be given it in the first movie, not even in the storyboard sketches, then I hope that he can be given it in the sequel with possibly more experience against Optimus.

It’s definitely interesting to see what was left out A lot of it was clunky and too dialogue heavy for moments that should be filled with tension, but some parts are really interesting such as Megaton’s both happiness and regret of the past. I think it was changed to be a lot faster so that it felt more like a rapidly careening train crash for that extra tension, but most of these elements do still remain if just in smaller traces.

I only thing I would want from the storyboards is Astrotrain and that extra bit of Dialogue from D-16 before he shoots. In terms of implementation if we are keeping the story mostly the same, we simply don't have the landscape changing causing them to crash but Astrotrain stopping, transforming and facing them telling them he's gotta keep to time before fighting them forcing them to leave and the only reason our heros live is because something beaps and he checks his watch then transforms and leaves them stranded saying he's going to be late. For D-16 have it so that D-16 uses the lines 6:06-7:39 but D-16 still shoves Orion out of the way to fire only for Orion to jump back in and get shot. I want it more this way because the original scene of D-16 becoming Megatron and Orion becoming Optimus at the same time along with his speech works REALLY well together. The other other option for Astrotrain for the sequel is we find out his Cog was removed in vehicle mode locking him in his train mode and Megatron finds out and frees him causing him to pledge his loyalty to Megatron.

Astrotrain scene was OK, but I'm satisfied with what we got. While watching Sentinel get karmicaly ganged up on, knocked down by his own wing, beaten up, rendered powerless and shaking in his servos was great, I prefer watching Megatron split him in 2 in berserk fury. More pain. 8 35 The three stooges: Starscream: Ah scrap. Shockwave: This is illogical. Soundwave: Affirmative. I still prefer the final duel we got.

I can understand why this sequence on the birth of Megatron had to be changed. Orion at that point is still too much of a green horn to know what to say, I don’t think he would have had the knowledge to bring up these ideas to Megatron. The final version of this sequence works because both their flaws are what get them to that point. I do hope we can still have this conversation of Megatron just wanting to meet quota in a sequel though, it’d be so gut wrenching. If Optimus and Megatron are in the middle of a fight and these emotions come out, Megatron showing that he did have dreams, but now he is someone else to separate from that.

Not gonna lie, I perfer some scenes over the final one. Having the decepticon trio aiding in taking down sentinel with Megatron( an extremely rare sight of them working together) is so badass and better than having them be canon fodder to Optimus in the final version, also the reason has to why the decepticons would follow Megatron is way more clear in the storyboars than the final film.

They shouldve kept parts of this in. Astrotrain wouldve fit right in. And fighting w the elete gaurd wouldve made sense whyd theyd fight for him. But the lead up to and death of sentinal was better in the movie.
