I do the backpack 'mod' too. Another thing I found that works great is turning Roadtrap's forearms around in combined mode. Hands are no longer visible, it's just smooth blue plastic. Angle them in, and they tuck right into that gap beside the windshield.

Fold the back pack the other way. So the rotor is on the inside. Fits perfectly,there is even a little space on the non rotor arm for the top of the rotor peg to sit into

for the back, fold arms in half and individually peg together. then peg the forearms together fists pointing up and rotar center. with the black pieces folded all the way back there will be a nice gap between the backpack but it adds some needed thickness to the figure

for there to be a Flywheels there would have to be recolor potential for both molds. most likely as Autobots. that said, there used to be an Autobot cassette duo called Grandslam and Raindance that would be perfect for bringing back as the recolored Flywheels.

in 88' or so my mother got me the tank/jet duocon. I don't even remember their names, and despite not being able to turn into anything alone, I'm told I carried that jet around like it was part of my body as a kid. Hope they release that set as well.

Honestly, I think that Roadtrap could make a really good Shattered Glass Bumblebee/Goldbug repaint. I mean, the head helps in that regard, as well as the chest, in my honest opinion.

Something you did not show, I don't know if it was intentional or not but Battletrap does have knees. some of the transformaton joints in roadtrap line up so you can get some knee articulation in the combined mode. It is only about 30 degrees or so though.

Interesting that this set turns into two separate robots and then combine, as opposed to the original Duocons that were just two vehicles that 'jump-formed' into a single bot. I'm trying to remember...Flywheels was the other Duocon, with the dark red jet and the brown tank? I used to have that one, if I recall. I do wonder...if Hasbro does them as well, I wonder if the pairs will be interchangable, Powerlinx-style.

I found a way to connect the arms in the back of combined mode. I'll try and describe. Position the arms so that the triceps are facing up, the elbows facing each other. Bend at the elbows. This puts the blade laid up against the back. The two forearms are then in position to click together.

Sorry to resurrect your comment but there's a proper flywheels coming out with seige! -its the same size and style as battletrap -both vehicles don't form separate bot modes -its one deluxe sized figure -the port on the bottom for the legs is the same as roadtrap head, so they can swap legs and bodies!
