It's not Gustav it's a Dora.a unique super-heavy railway artillery piece of the German army. Developed by Krupp in the late 1930s. It was intended to destroy the fortifications of the Maginot line and fortifications on the border of Germany and Belgium. The gun was used during the storming of Sevastopol in 1942.

Epic model. Is it based off Gustav or Dora? I don't know if you guys and gals would remember the G1 episode where starscream creates the combaticons using Ww2 war machines, the comic art was better though. I was not a fan of the bay movies but I did like the bulldog model of I beleive a ww1 British mark 4 male tank and have tried to find a good model without success. A ww1 transformers comic would be awesome

You can bring all the math ya want,but i got the results that you fail to make . And yeah, this model is preety lazy and lame in it's design. I've seen chinese knockoffs with more technical wizardry involved.

@@raylenn4444 You are a hobbyist, you have all the time at your disposal, and if something you make requires complicated repairs or a 100 page manual to use it's no big deal. That's not how things work in the industry, we have strict budgets, need to make sure the product will last at least some time and can handle a somewhat okay level of costumers misuse from often slightly stupid costumers. This model is also only 150 dollars, which is very reasonable for this level of mechanical complexity and detailing. On the personnal attack side of your argument, I'm not a math wizard pumping unrealistic pipe dreams out of his computer, I'm the guy who make the 3D models with all the mechanical, fabrication and budget constraints in mind. And I did my fair share of prototyping during my studies, as well as worked as a machinist for some time, so I have experience in fabrication.

The amount of detail in this model is just absolutely astounding! As someone who has never ever bought one of these in their life, I can truly say that this is something I would not consider a toy! This would definitely be more of a collectors model! It looks amazing!

I was really looking forward to this figure. Kinda wish the upper body had a bit more bulk to it. Also the option to split the big cannon in half to give the robot mode asymmetrical shoulder cannons would have been a cool addition, and made posing a bit easier.

Random fact: this is straight up a really oversized cannon on a train car. This is also technically classified as a "tank", its name is "Schwerer Gustav"(heavy gustav in english), and it could fire 60 centimeter rounds(31.5 inches) And, built by the germans Also, I just want this for its Schwerer Gustav form now tbh

The 60 centimeter rounds where for the second one, "Dora" the Schwerer Gustav had 80 cm rounds, but the firepower was too much for the barrel to handle, and it would noticeably warp after 2 shots, which is all it ever fired before being retrofitted with the 60 cm barrel and used to bombard London from the coast of France. In the end, it was too demanding in maintenance and crew, incredibly slow to transport and needed special tracks to be laid specifically for it's deployment, so it was rarely moved and ended up being bombed by the allies soon after it's location was discovered.

There were 2 80 cm "Schwerer Gustav" and one unfinished 52cm which should be the one firing rocket propelled grenades at London from Calais. There were plans for 70, 80, 85 and 100 cm. The 2 finished 80cm guns were used at Sevastopol and stationed at Leningrad and Stalingrad. Don't know where you've got the information about warped barrels from, though. The Schwerer Gustav was a 800mm gun that need 2 sets of rails to be transported, no it didnt fit on just one set of rails, it needed 2 sets to accommodate its ridiculous size. For context, the largest Naval gun ever was the 460mm gun of the Yamato class battleships, 18.1inches, the Gustav gun is almost twice as big, 800mm/31.5 inches. absolute monster of a rifle

How about a Titan-sized transformer that has as its "vehicle" mode something on par with the BFG 10,000 used in Doom to shoot a chunk out of Mars. Its robot mode would probably be somewhere around 3 FEET tall when fully transformed. In robot mode, it might just resemble The Doom Slayer only much, much bigger.
