Its a good time to be a Transformers fan. We just got the first season of a new cartoon Earthspark (which i encourage any TF fan to check out cause it surprised me how good it was). Getting a trilogy of new films in the Bumblebee timeline starting with this one. And we've got lots of leaks about a Transformers MMO game apparently coming soon called Rise (no connection. Though leaks saying they are waiting to begin marketing it around the film, just to help promote it off similar names)

Maximals, Maximize! The good old days of 3D animation. Optimus Prime and Primal together is so surreal, that they showed Rinox and Cheetor as well warmed my heart, we just need Rattrap to complete the classic team. I grew up watching G1 transformers, but I’m not going to lie that Beast Wars was a guilty pleasure of mine. That intro alone was amazing! Despite the fact that Mirage didn't gain the ability to make holograms from G1. I know he did that in the new War for Cybertron trilogy. G1 Mirage had the ability to turn invisible. Hound was the one who made holograms. But Mirage's alternate mode here was a dead giveaway.

Secondly the official Twitter confirmed it when they told us Pete Davidson is playing Mirage. Third the director ages ago confirmed the majority of characters in the film on his Instagram. Jazz isn't in the film

So, to correct Rick here, Beast Wars wasn't Autobots and Decepticons (well, so to speak). The series introduced these new factions called Maximals, leaded by simple captain of an exploration ship called Optimus PRIMAL, and Predacons, leaded by a different Megatron that was following the notes of the Golden Disk. As the show continues, you learn more and more that both factions are in fact descendants from the Autobots and the Decepticons, even finding the dormant factions in the pre-historical Earth.

Bro I choked up when they flipped the logos to the Maximals and Predacons. Remember the jewel logos appearing in their robot forms!? And McDonald's had a small release of some simple toys: a panther, rhino, manta ray and beetle. In Transformers lore, the Maximals (the robotic mammals) are the descendants of the Autobots. G1 Megatron encoded a secret message onto the Voyager Golden Record plaque that gave instructions to his descendants to go back in time and kill Optimus Prime, so that the Decepticons would win the war. On it, included not only the coordinates of the Teletraan I Autobot space shuttle, but the codes to access and operate it as well. The Beast Wars was basically about The Maximals protecting their ancestors (The Autobots) from being assassinated while the latter were still unconscious and vulnerable for the millions of years they've been on Earth.

In Beast Wars not all Decepticons (in fact they are called Predacons) transform into dinosaurs, only 3 of them do. The others transform into insects, arachnids and one of them into a crab. And technically Megatron transform into a dragon in the third season.
