Usually Back in WW2 from my knowledge, American troopers did have backpacks on their backs to carry ammo and supplies and all. So if I get this figure, I'd just see the backpack as a reference to what WW2 Troops had to carry.

I am sorry to say this but that's not tank. It's armored car. To be tank it would need to have threads instead of any wheels (if it had two wheels and threads then that would make it half track) and turning turret (armored vehicles with threads but without one are either assault guns or tank destroyers).

Oh maaannn. This is a little bit of a letdown. Of all the characters that came and went in TLK, WWII Bumblebee was the one I wanted most in toy/collectible form. The vehicle mode is grievously inaccurate. He's supposed to transform into a really gnarly Mercedes Benz 770K. As a result, his robot mode is also inaccurate. Thankfully, the good hands people at Toyworld are hard at work rectifying this issue with their own screen-accurate WWII Bumblebee. As a bonus, they are also making a collectible of the second character I wanted most in such a form, which is Bulldog, whose alt mode is a really sweet WWI-era Mark IV tank. I'm also holding out hope that somebody makes Onslaught from the film as well, as I'll take a Combaticon nod any day of the week.

This figure is kind of disappointing. I'm down with the vehicle mode, I love how the robot mode looks, but the transformation is child's play shellforming and the vehicle mode paint is bad. That's not what I expect from a Studio Series tag line.

Despite it's flaws and issues, still getting this figure. Because I've been waiting for this one since it was announced last year and I just totally dig this military variant of Bee, so will get this regardless of it's issues. And hey, not every figure can be perfect (except for Takara Legends LG/Titans Return Triggerhappy that figure is pure perfection and bliss), so yeah. I dunno, I just had a thing with military stuff. Anyway, really glad you did WWII Bumblebee. Worth the wait so great review as always, Balt!

Outside of the Volkswagen bumblebee I personally will say this is one of my other favorite designs second 2 the age of Extinction bumblebee design but third to the Bumblebee movie bumblebees Volkswagen mode. I still might get the Conqueror Bumblebee because as M-GO said it is vastly more then the first one we got also they fix the one issue that I had with the not having a pin on where the roof is at

The multi barrel gun is dumb but...I want this thing pretty bad. There's very very few Transformers that are WWII or even WWI alt modes, and my mission is to get any and all of them when they come out. The coloration on him is understandably poor for many of you...but as a big WWII buff this is perfect. The shade of OD green is pretty close to OD green used by US forces...even though this is a British scout car. A Humber Light Recon Car, specifically. The top gun mount and even the "cannon" out the front are correct...though the "cannon" on the real vehicle is actually a forward smoke grenade launcher...and two orders of magnitude shorter than this.

If it weren't for that ugly backpack, the figure would be more appealing to me. this is the third new mold for bumblebee in the studio series line and there is still issues with it. I feel like Hasbro/Takara are releasing bumblebee figures for marketing purposes, and not putting really quality into it Edit: mine came in today, and the hips are loose and is hard to stand up

Wow, that transformation engineering is great! Too bad the dumpy paint scheme ruins it. Like, I get that it's a combat vehicle, and they're not very pretty. Function over form and all that. It just sucks that there's not even some dry brushing, or some mud splatter to break up all of the pea green!
