Chip Chase is superhuman. Watch any episode with him in it and you’ll see what I mean. He’s survived acid rain. He’s been tossed around like a rag doll to no ill effect. He once even tore a floppy disk in half with his bear hands like it was a piece of paper. He’s a monster.

What I remember most about Acid Storm and the Rainmakers was that they had the Cybertronian jet modes which didn't show up as much as the animation tended to primarily feature Seekers in the F15 forms, even on Cybertron before the war.

Universe Acid Storm was one of my first Transformers toys. It was definitely my first g1 toy and continues to be one of my favorites. It wasn't until recently I had known of the character's significance. Now I appreciate the guy even more.

The 3 main Rainmakers (as suggested in video) and also Bitstream are appearing in IDW Transformers doing their parts, so just that bit more than background characters.. Problem being is that they apparently can't (or won't) talk.... You also forgot Red Wing (made into a toy) and two others (which have names, but I don't think they have toys). P.S. Does Slipstream fit into this narrative... I know she has toys, but I have only really been introduced to her when I caught up in the comics.. Don't know anything about cartoons (I do know she is a toy though)>

I like him just because he's my favorite color. All in all there really aren't that many green Transformers, especially not bright green like he often is. At least not many that hold my interest. Seekers are like Clone Trooper or Stormtrooper variants so it's nice to get a variety of them in different colors. I'd love to get an Acid Storm repaint of the upcoming Siege tetra-jet mold. I don't care if it's made a store exclusive to Wall-Mart, Target, Wallgreens, etc as long as it isn't a con exclusive I'd never have a chance at getting. In the new Cyberverse series we've gotten a lot more Seekers in new colors and I LOVE the black and neon green one we've seen many times over the series. I reeaally hope we get a nice Seeker mold recolored to match that guy!

The Basics has this absolutely wild way of getting me the most invested in the most unassuming episodes. The Ultra Magnus episode sent me down a 30 minute rabbit hole of Headmasters googling, trying to find a half-remembered comic cover that turned out to be “Fort Max Gets the Shaft” And now it turns out that the favorite toy 6-year-old me assumed was a weird Starscream is actually Acid Storm!

The Transformers Universe line that came out in 2008 with the F15 Acid Storm was so cool 2:08 I’m okay with Acid Storm and the other rain makers being revealed as female transformers because honestly it’s about time the writers did something about the sausage fest that is Transformers lore and altering a relatively minor yet loved character is better than outright changing a character like Ironhide or Skywarp

Happy Saturday, Chris! Can't wait to get the book! There was a Universe Acid Storm figure at one of the local CVS pharmacies for YEARS at one point. I found it on the shelf in 2012 and was super surprised that it was still there. When I took it to the front to buy it, I found out why: it was $25, which is double what a Deluxe figure at the time cost. It sat there for 4 years and they never marked it down, even though newer toylines had come and gone and were much closer in cost to regular retail. I guess the moral of the story is, don't by toys from the chemist unless that's the only place you can find them.

All three Rainmakers would also be made as redecos of Starscream in the War for Cybertron: Siege toyline in 2019, based directly on their Cybertronian alternate modes from the G1 cartoon, and Nova Storm has made the jump to TV again in Transformers Earthspark as a fully female Decepticon working alongside a female version of classic Decepticon jet, Skywarp.

Imagine If, in some future interpretation of transformers, Acid Storm acts as this withdrawn data clerk of Seekers that just doesn't like going into action as much as the other seekers. Not that Acid Storm is weak or a coward, they just take more pleasure in being left alone, while finding needed information for the other higher ranking Decepticons, giving them that 'nerdy silent kid/office secretary'-type of personality... I would also love If this "gender-bender" situation from Cyberverse gets paid homage in one-episode running gag; having two decepticons arguing in the background: A: "What is it with her? I can't remember when's the last time she showed up for patrol." B: "Yeah, like she's some kind of ghost or something. Tho, I think you mean 'he'" A: "What are you talking about?! Acy is a 'she'!" Continuing the argument, occasionally throughout the episode, until at one point, the pair finally encounter Acid Storm and one of them yells: "Hey Acid Storm! Are your pronouns 'he' or 'she'?" only for Acid Storm to answer "Yes" in deadpan tone, and leave.

I dont see the difference between “male” and “female” transformers because in most lore transformers don’t have “special parts” that let them reproduce and classify their gender, in most lore they are born from vector sigma, primus, or the quintessons. But I like acid storm as a character who doesn’t get much spotlight so he is that one mysterious character.

Ion Storm was the name of a game development company in the mid 90's. It's also what particularly strong, highly charged solar winds are called. Novastorm is the name of a video game that came out at around the same time that Ion Storm was founded, but by a different company. It seems to have been picked for sounding thematically linked.

I'm all for a genderfluid character, especially since it is isn't portrayed as a negative. Instead it is just normal and I love that. A bit odd for a character that went years without even having a name, but I can't imagine a better choice.
