Remember, Beast Wars Inferno was originally a Maximal protoform who was reprogrammed into a Predicon by Tarantulus. For all we know, he may have also been the original Inferno as well; his personality radically altered by the combination of the Predicon shell program, and the damaged logic circuits.

I’m glad I don’t ever have to see him in person! First of all, I HATE ants because they are always getting in my house! Whenever I see a bunch of them, I have to squish them! Also when I was 7 I had a really bad nightmare about ant people (think, giant bright red ants the size of taller than average humans, that walk on t2 of their six legs, with huge yellow eyes with pupils that are just dots, that when they walk, you hear BOOM BOOM and the ground shakes, and when they snap their fingers, all of the people around are suddenly down on the ground as if they’re worshipping something, and they’re like that for a few seconds before they get up, and when they do they have been turned into any people and the people who didn’t change, they carry them off, holding them by their hands dangling off the ground with your arms and legs in a certain position like an X)! It was so horrible I woke up shivering and had to wake up my dad! I know it doesn’t sound that scary now, but back then, and when I was having the dream, OH BOY was it terrifying! I’m not afraid of ants though, but seeing a giant red ant like Inferno up close would be VERY unsettling! 😖 I had LOTS of nightmares when I was 7 for some reason! I still remember some quite well! I’ve even given the worst ones names! For some reason, idk why. Two of them I woke up shivering! The first one was The Attack of the Ant People and the second was Purple Glowing Vampires! Don’t ask about the vampires that dream was very weird. Well, actually, they all were! One involved some creep flushing a bunch of kids down a toilet! I have no idea where that came from!

Inferno's heroic sacrifice in the Unicron saga will always cement him as one of the all time great G1 Autobots. He always did want to go out in a blaze of glory, and by Primus, he did.

I know some people will disagree, but I think Predacon Inferno is much more iconic than G1 Inferno. He has a much flashier personality and an unique mold, not to mention that said mold is full of personality with the iconic "Iron Mask" face and the ant legs on the sides. I'm no fan of Inferno, and I don't even hold BW as my favourite cartoon (I didn't even grew with it, that would be Armada), but BW Inferno is in my eyes the true holder of the Inferno name.

I always saw BW Inferno as being the same character as G1 Inferno. Having survived into the future he was a protoform on the Axalon, but the Predacon shell program and the glitch making him think he was an ant caused a severe personality change.

Nice video. Actually, in Botcon 2016 comic, Dawn of Predacus, the fire engine Inferno was severely injured and put into a stasis pod, which become one of the cargos on Axalon. that indicates the the giant ant was actually reprogrammed from the G1 character

Was so happy to see this episode in my sub box, energon inferno was the first toy I ever actively looked for beyond just saying I wanted to get a transformer when we were at the store as a kid because I really liked him in what little of the show I'd seen, it's also one of only 3 toys that survived my childhood and is still a part of my adult collection. That version and any other one that turns into a firetruck hold a very special place in my heart.

*Fun Random Trivia:* in 1984 there was a korean animated movie called "Defenders of Space" aka "Phoenix King" which used Inferno as the titular robots. Like most Joseph Lai animations it's really cheesy and not-that-good (I'm saying so because it's actually one of the better JL films) and I absolutely love it X3> In my headcanon this was the result of "Hoist goes Hollywoon" where they chose Inferno instead. This is also why Inferno for me has always been the 3rd autobot to come to mind (After Optimus and Bumblebee). Also I did show up in the US comic in the Christmas mini-story where he, Sandstorm and Bradside unintentionally clashed with Getaway and the other Powermasters, though I don't remember if it was after or before alt universe storyline.

Loved inferno in beast wars especially calling megatron his queen all the time. Because he was so loyal to megs i think that may be the reason they killed off scorponok. He was also loyal to megatron but i guess inferno was more enjoyable as a character.

Predacon Inferno IS inferno in my opinion. The G1 is respectively good in his own way but predacon inferno just fits his own namesake. Crazy, insane, loyal to the extreme, not afraid, loves to burn anything to ash. He is inferno and always will be to me. “For the Royalty and the Colony!”

Like every other character name used at random due to trademark reasons, the Inferno from the Beast Wars series was the first one I ever knew of. So I was thrown out of whack when the name was given to an Autobot fire engine in Transformers Energon. But after the first live action movie motivated me to learn more about G1, that’s when I discovered that Inferno was an Autobot name from the start.

Great video Inferno along with Terrosore was one of my favorite Predacons. My thoughts as to why his figure didn't sell well was even though he was a season one character he didn't come in until much later that year vs all the other tou figures which were there from the start, it's easy to sell a figure if he is on tv vs not. But and sadly given Megatrons crazed uncaring nature I don't that friendly fire was accidental both Inferno and Quickstrike were destroyed for good.

I still have awful childhood memories of Inferno. He was a real rarity where I lived. Everyone wanted him & only one kid in my school had one. Until he bought it in one day to show it off, then Sister Catherine confiscated it until the end of term. It went missing, obviously. He was never the same kid after that. Nuns can be so cruel.

Actually that was a repaint of Transformers Armada's Red Alert. Said character also reappeared in the 3rd story arc from the "Unicron Trilogy" called Transformers Cybertron. The "Cybertron" series is also called "Galaxy Force" in Japan and several other countries.

BW Inferno is not only my favourite BW transformer, but he is arguably my favourite transformer of all, alongside Starscream. I still have his big original BW toy to this day on display along with some other bots and figures. It may not have sold well, but I sure as heck pestered my parents for it nonstop until I got it. lol

if i recall, in BEAST WARS . Inferno's pod was captured by blackarachnia. His pod originally a maxamall but it landed it took damaged thus his personality quirk after blackarachnia brought him to life. His fire Ant character was hella tight

In Italy Beast Wars was called "Biocombat" and most characters had their names changed to reflect their beast modes, for example Rampage was name Granchior (granchio=Crab) and Airazor was named Lady Falcon (Falco=hawk).

My favorite inferno is the Energon / Superlink one. He is a great Character! As for the first fire truck, he is cool, but he had not as much character development, the ant is cool, but he got killed too quick in my opinion.
