Pretty sure that is because how Fortress Maximus NORMALLY transforms, in the japanese version he literally says "Big Transform" which is an literal translation of "Enlarge" in Japanese... It isn't that they meant to mean Enlarge, but... is just so happen that Great Transformation writes about the same as Enlarge in Japanese... Which, when translated, somehow got turned into Big Transform on their side because english woohoo, and then the english dub team clearly wasn't very keen on knowing Japanese well.

Just for everyone laughing at Galvatron with Unicrons body, its even funnier when you know that THAT WASNT EVEN UNICRON. Grand Galvatron was supposed to its own thing inspired by galvatrons lust for power but when the dubbing team saw the animation they thought "hey this looks like unicron" and decided to make it unicron despite not being written that way, and then as with nearly all transformers English dubs performed by people who speak english as a second language: the spell checker corrected unicron to unicorn, and nobody knew the correct spelling to stop this absolute masterpiece of a clip being created. Headmasters is incredible and this dub only makes it better.
