Huge props to the current crop of designers - on one hand it's obvious their material and part budgets are still as low as they've ever been, but they're getting really creative with trying to mix these teams up. Even if they all look kind-of the same in bot mode. Also I still can't get comfortable with every G1 figure being a headmaster :P

I feel that characters like Kup and Hot Rod don't fit the Titan Master/Head Master idea. Their probably in the toy wave because they were in the Head Masters cartoon. In my opinion a character that deserves to be updated is Punch/Counter Punch, he was quite a prominent character in that series.

I think they're just in general updating the "master" transformers that came at the end of the cartoon. Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Scourge, Triggerhappy, Misfire, and Quake were all targetmasters in the original line.

The Titans Return figures are great all-around. I share my live for transformers with my son he's 4 now... this Kup and TR Hot Rod are his favorites to play with and he takes great care with them as they go on adventures with his Super Wings toys. After the Generations and Prime attempts at Kup it was nice to see this very successful attempt at the G1 Cybertronian Mini Truck. Even though I like the SS86 Kup the TR version really does it for me.

He's made to be colored like the G1 toy which is why he has the grey. I'm sure Takara will repaint the mold into how he looks more in the show. As for who the mold can be remade for I'm hoping it'd be Orion Pax due to them sharing the same mold in the G1 line along with there already being an Orion Pax TM out there anyway so it's a no brainer.

Have to admit that transformation is amazing. I kind of want this figure now, but I'm waiting to see if Takara will give him a proper colour scheme. The Hasbro version's paint job looks brand new even though Kup himself is supposed to be an old fart. It just doesn't work for me, but I can see what they were going for.

I think 90% of the issues with the paint could have been solved with his head crest painted yellow. The all grey head is killing it for me.

I got ripped off. My grandmother got me this figure from Amazon for Christmas, and when I opened it, I realized that it had been packing taped shut, as though it was returned. I now know why. When I transformed him, I realized, that on the back bumper of the vehicle mode, instead of a left panel and a right panel, it had 2 left panels. I could never transform the figure properly. It's no big deal, but I'm still kind of mad about it.

I don't think a voyager would work. Cars and such tend to be Voyagers, and Crosshairs being a Van-ish Truck-ish thing is more likely for a Deluxe. I just hope they also make a Pointblank and Sureshot, seeing as we're getting Triggerhappy, Misfire, and Slugslinger in TR.

the titans series pisses me off so much, man. It's sooo freak'n frustrating how almost ever figure has been super brilliant with bot mode, alt mode, and transformation except that everything is a headmaster. A non-headmaster Rodimus, Blurr, megatron, etc. would have been perfection.
