FYI, they put the spikes which go towards the back of the planet in upside down. Also, look near the back of the manual for inserting the stand.

You folks do a good job showing how this thing is changed from one form to the next, and that's important, since I've purchased TFs where the instructions are too vague at critical points (Starscream in particular comes to mind). That being said, many parts of the transformation seem overly tedious. Rather than moving a chunk of the shell from one area to another, you move that chunk and unfold it into smaller chunks. This would be mildly interesting if the unfolding unveiled something else, but it doesn't. Same goes for rotating all those rings at different angles and moving them up and down. Part of the fun of transforming the original toys was revealing parts of the toy that weren't visible before you transformed it. With the newer ones, you can go through a long list of steps before you see anything more. It kind of takes the fun out of it.

Although the transformation is simple, folding the shells looks pretty complicated; besides, the robot itself is just folded and doesn't transform at all. I'm glad I didn't back up this project.

While this is a helpful video. You guys left out opening up the lower hemispheres to flip up the lower cover plate, in order to be able to properly put him on the stand. Page 31 in the instructions.

According to the manual (and other reviews) she mistransformed it. While a minor nit she completely folded in the small triangle pieces of the rear leg panels instead of sliding them under the panels located on the inside of the calf thereby keeping the smaller triangle panels visible and plugging a hole. You guys should also create a video that covers the bot to planet transformation sequence. In addition, you need to release an amendment to the instruction manual that illustrates how to correctly mount the stand. Without Prime Vs Prime's early review I would have probably damaged the panels because Hasbro neglected this very important step in the official manual.

You know the instructions included with the figure are bad when they have to make an official video showing you how to transform it (I have the figure, btw). And I'm sure Unicron appreciates the gesture, but it's not really necessary to wear a mask when you're literally the only person in an online video.

Imagine Hasbro pulse putting out a video on how to convert Unicron before they’ve fully honoured their end of the bargain by actually shipping the figure to everyone. I know 11 Canadians who were part of the original crowd fund including myself who’ve not even gotten notification of shipping yet. I myself funded very early in the project through the Hasbro Pulse main page, and get to watch as people who got theirs through secondary distributors get theirs, brag about it online and make review videos on KZbin, and still nothing. I’ve sent letters about this issue to Pulse and no response, nothing! I doubt very much I’ll be participating in future crowd funding projects on Pulse, no faith in them at all.

You're essentially comparing apples and oranges and your comment suggests that you don't understand how tolerances on materials work. Core Star is less than a third of the mass of Unicron (around 3kg from memory, as opposed to 10kg for Haslab Unicron) and less than 3/4 it's height; those differences are more of a factor in how both turned out, than you appear to have even begun to realise. We know that the reason that Haslab Unicron was originally planned to be 1m tall, but those plans were scrapped, was because the figure couldn't handle the stresses in planet mode, with the weight of some parts, breaking other parts. The reason that Core Star is able to be far more intricate a transformation, is precisely because the figure is so much lighter and smaller and so the envelope isn't being pushed on materials, meaning that it can get away with things that a much larger and more massive figure can't. Hinges on thin panels on a scale where a figure is 3kg, are going to be exposed to far less stresses than on a scale where the same figure is 10kg. The reality is that given what we know, a radically different transformation was most likely tried and the hinges on various panels probably couldn't take the strain. The end result was a transformation which converted the panels in a manner which minimised stresses on them. It's far from ideal, sure, but in reality, using ABS and at that size and mass, it's probably the best we're likely to get based on current polymer technology and costs. Sure, they probably could have gone with other materials like Thermoresin which could have handled those stresses better than ABS. However at that point, you're probably adding another 0 on the price. Are you honestly saying that you'd be happy paying close to $6,000USD, for a transformation along the lines of Cor Star, but with Haslab's size and mass? I don't believe you even remotely would.

It’s not like it was some cinematic project with special effects, laser lights, pyrotechnics, killer soundtrack blasting in the background, and a drone flying around to get aerial shots that would require a bunch of folks to do this. It’s a decent, simple how-to video that I applaud, but I’m still gonna call out stupid when I see it-hence my mask comment. Hopefully you were wearing yours when you commented.
