To make Laserbeak's bird mode even better try clipping the weapons onto the robot mode forearms while in bird mode. It gives him a tail, and I reckon it really improves the look of the bird mode.

Fun fact: there’s actually a second repaint of these two that was sold at one of the Tokyo Toy Fairs. With them being made after the G2 characters Dreadwind and Blackwing.

These two are at the forefront of why RotF figures are so good. I'm surprised they never rereleased this line's bangers. I'm surprised they never released in G1 colors with Skystalker in his Headmaster Vorath(?) colors or recolored as Needlenose and Skyquake.

Oh yeah, ROTF\HFTD scouts were amazing! Seaspray's little buddy Breacher had wrist and ankle articulation, a waist swivel AND an ab crunch, he can easily keep up with the best of WFC\Legacy\SS'86.

Breacher is still the best scout ever. I have purchased nine of them over the years, and a Takara one, which has a darker blue paint.

@ Nine Breachers!? Oh man, that's awesome! Wish the little blue guy would be revisited as a deluxe or even voyager class figure, the design easily deserves it. In general, as much as I like T30\Prime Wars era legend class and the current core class figures, they just can't hold a candle to how nice some of those late 2000s\early 2010s scouts were.

I’ve had the rotf Mindwipe since I was a kid, and I still love it to this day. Nothing has broken off, so he’s held up great over the years. The only thing is his arm blades gimmick doesn’t like to flip out anymore when you push the button, but it’s not that important to me. Such an awesome figure! I have to get that skystalker mood someday

After watching this video, I went out and got the pair. when playing around with it for the first time, I realize he totally DOES have an ankle joint. it's only got one indent, but you can make his ankles tilt inward so he can stand in a wide-legged stance. it's very subtle and if you weren't messing with it, chances are you completely Miss it. try it out!

Great review Jcc2224!! There is a fan made combined robot mode, which you can achieve by shoving Laserbeak/Skystalker into Mindwipe's chest. This is due to a rumor that these figures were originally supposed to combine in both robot and alt modes. Keep on being amazing.

Yeah, I got Mindwipe and Skystalker separately, and when I found out they can combine, my mind was blown, because they were already independently great figures in their own right. Every so often, you get a really, truly amazing figure amongst all the repaints, retools, and "Big Four" (Optimus, Bumblebee, Megatron, & Starscream) revisions, and they seem to be getting fewer and further between, these days.

Sadly I wasn't able to get the originals when they came out but I do have the bacon and egg combo that came out in the hunt for decepticon line when they appeared at TJ Maxx and I love those two. Even if the mind wipe mold is hard to stand up on its own in robot mode lol

I own the Takara Tomy Tokyo Toyshow repaint of this guy. It was a 2 pack with Dreadwing and Smokescreen (a redeco of Skystalker. Unfortunately, my Smokescreen is broken beyond repair. But a great figure none the less For anyone seeking more knowledge about this particular figure To my knowledge, there are three variants out there of the Mindwipe figure mold, the first being Mindwipe himself. Then Rotf Reveal the Shield Autobot Strafe. And finally the Blue redeco botcon Dreadwing. Of the Skystalker figure mold there are actually four different variants. Skystalker, Lazerbeak (Asia Exclusive), Sunspot (white & yellow redeco) and Smokescreen. A blue repaint made to pair with the Dreadwing figure.

I hate how I keep proving to myself that there’s no perfect figure. The brittleness of the red daggers was a red herring. ITS GOT GOLD PLASTIC! The 4 spots I see it the most is the ankle and wrists where they crack. I think it’s where the goo meets during molding because mine has a line in the wrist where the other broke. Also yours has some cracks.
