Just a bit of clarification, Ax did not give the Animorphs their powers. That was his brother, Elfangor. And the reason he gave them their powers in the first place was to give them a fighting chance against the Yeerks, the alien slugs. One of the key things is that they can’t tell anyone about their abilities because you never know who’s a Yeerk and who isn’t, since they can perfectly mimic their hosts due to having access to their memories via the brain

So, about the kid in Animorphs who gets stuck as a bird: he actually gets his morphing power back from Gamer Space God, but his normal form was forever a bird, and it was a one-time thing, if he got stuck in another form that's it. You get a two-hour time limit or else you get stuck in the form that isn't yours, but if you turn into say a caterpillar, get stuck in that form, and then live long enough to form a cocoon and become a butterfly, the time limit resets due to the metamorphosis.

​@@tycol322 Only back to your original form. Only very few individuals can shift between one form and another without first changing into their original form. In fact, only one character learns how to control *how* she transforms. Like, it's never painful, but unless you're like that character, you could end up with an ant leg and mandibles before your body starts to shrink if you try to turn into an ant, etc. Again, not painful, but very body-horror to look at - or read about. But I kind of loved it for that. Started my fascination with body horror like The Thing and David Cronenberg in general.

The weird thing is, as a kid, and I mean even like 7 or 8, I could tell that the reason I thought transformers and power rangers zords were so cool is that the robots really work the same as the toys. Their transformations are totally possible, you can see where all the parts went. It gives it a fun restriction. Straight-up-shapeshifting is just not as special or fun, but it's not like it's a bad thing. You expect to see it in scifi or fantasy... but then to make TOYS of shapeshifters, that transforrm? it's like, _why?_ This isn't really satisfying. Lookin at you, Beast Machines.

Ok, so, funny story- I’m a casual transformers fan (I liked armada, G1, and Beast Wars as a kid), but my cousin is super into it and every year for Christmas, I’ll go to the collector shop near me and get him one of the old loose beast wars figures out the glass case. I have an idea for a Transformers band called Robostein (Rammstein parody), which consists of the 6 G1-based Bumblebee Studio Series Decepticons. (SS72, SS83, SS89, SS109, SS110, SS113) My parody band features: - Megatron on lead vocals - Starscream on lead guitar and backing vocals - Skywarp on rhythm guitar and backing vocals - Thundercracker on bass guitar - Shockwave on drums - Soundwave on keyboard I of course had to have Megatron as the lead vocalist of my Rammstein/Transformers crossover parody, since he comes with a giant cannon accessory and Rammstein use a giant cannon in one of their live songs. I will also make a video of my fake band performing a cover of "Kammthaar", using SS38 Optimus Prime as the truck. I am also a Lego fan, so the parody of "Liebe ist fur alle da" is the Lego tribute album "Lego ist fur alle da".

Depending on how a slot car track is laid out and how the barriers are setup can depend on how fast you can go I had a setup where you could go flat out though the copper things that were separated by the pin would need regular cleaning

The Tobias figure wasn't too bad, besides the talons hanging off his wrists like they were fursona suit accessories and the wings folding onto his back like he was a poorly disguised angel. If anything, it was definitely the more inconspicuous looking figure of the line compared to the others. Still have him rattling around in a box somewhere along with Visser-Three. Used to play with them a great deal and even acted as "stand-ins" for an original series I made up in my head.

Also Transformers made it´s way to Animorphs tv series at the hangout place with games, everyone was playing the PS1 version of Beast Wars with actual PS1 controllers seen on screen, yet another system on the same place was just keyboard (there was an actual PC version of Beast Wars with better multiplayer mode than PS1) also the differences in universe that the names were covered up by high scores and it required "coins" as if it were an Arcade Cabinet but it was a PC unit

I appreciate the shout out to the slot car set and train set. I've got some trains and got good deals on some of them, but yeah, some can be crazy expensive. The train set is more M.A.S.K.-like. The random rubber robots are weird. There is actually a M.A.S.K. train set and multiple slot car sets as well. I have a slot car set and picked up extra cars. This video makes me want to set it up. Yeah, too much speed on curves etc and the car will fly off the track.
