this is cool, would be nice if you would get more involved with the techniques performing them on IMO problems and such, nice introduction nonetheless

This transformation matrix looks like identity matrix multiplied by scalar 3 - then it's becomes much easier to predict such result.

I find it easier to think of T as an identity matrix multiplied by scalar 3, making the new matrix the original multiplied by scalar 3. Is this solution correct too or is there some fault in my reasoning?

It does seem plausible, considering here we pretty much mapped the new structure by scalar*original coordinates and the structure remained the same, just the coordinates got multiplied and moved to newer positions in the same quadrants. The structure pretty much got scaled by the 3.But this won't hold true if the T matrix had any other number elements. You cannot have a common multiplied number or in any way reduce it to an identity matrix

I just want to know how can I create specific transformation matrix to change it into the 4th one which is rotating

But why? HOW do you predict what the transformation matrix will do by looking at it, without going through the extremely tedious work of doing calculations by hand? That's like tracking the registers of a CPU math core to find out the answer of a multiplication problem.

this is just to get the concepts right. At higher levels u just plug in numbers in a calculator
