A couple exciting things is I just got a Pentax 67 and my church is allowing me to use their BMPCC6k for fun. So the whole video side is super new but exciting!

Another way to get experience is to look for a local acting school. They always need assistance with student demo reels. I started off as an acting student and then started buying equipment. Some of my fellow students wanted to shoot a reel and we shot a few. It’s also a great way to find actors for future dream projects.

FYI I'm pretty sure the original spotlight that you have is only rated up to the 300d. They made the Spotlight Max for the 600 and 1200 series. I'm not sure if it's because of heat concerns or just the different sized chip, but it's worth looking into!

I’m curious what you end up doing for a heating and cooling solution. I have a detached garage that is my creative studio. Ended up going with a pellet stove as I only have 20amps of electric power. And getting more would cost thousands of dollars. Could be an option if you’re looking for something with low power draw.

If you have the budget though. Mini split systems are the best and most convenient plus they do heating and cooling. My space is only 400 sq feet.

Awesome space. I've been blessed to be able to borrow/use my dad's shop as a semi-studio space. I'm still a 3rd year films student so don't own the current best gear but I love my tungsten lights (Arri 650w and Lowel 250w) and all my modifiers. Having a film buddy over in a couple of days to try and set up some previsual lighting for one or two of his short films. And hopefully at the end of the month I'll get to PA or intern on a feature film shooting in Bentonville, AR, with a budget of half a million. Exciting stuff. Love seeing what you're up. Really enjoy your camera rigging videos. I've been both 1st AC and 2nd AC on several short film sets so I resonate with camera tinkering. I've also been really into lighting recently. I've DPed a few student films (a few mine own and two not mine own) and that's the route/role I'd love to do down the road. Hopefully to help a music friend with making a music video this summer as well.
