That was an amazing transformation. Love the dremel saw trick. I’m so happy to see you cover the drawer glides to protect from paint. It came out great for a cheap piece of furniture.

Great job! You took a cheap piece of furniture and upscaled it to something wonderful. Even better you give back to the earth by saving it from the landfill and then donating it to someone who really needs it. More flippers should do the same.

Wow! I’ve got to admit, when you started adding the lattice on the bottom three drawers, I was like 😱, then when you painted the dark blue, I liked the color, but plot twist, that top drawer wasn’t working in that paint wash, and so I was not down for the lattice and unsure of the natural finish. Then I saw the knobs and thought, hmm, not what I would have picked, and then you put it all together and it was GORGEOUS!! I love it! And just confirms for me why I’m not a conceptual person and have to see something all finished. I love this one! 🤩 Brava!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️

Great outcome from a sad-looking starting point! The new color/contrast look and added texture to the drawers is on-point for today's marketplace. Congrats! FYI one can successfully mix oil based stains and water base top coats - I use General Finishes gel stains and Varathane water based polycrylic top coat all the time - perhaps you don't have the time to wait 72 hrs to ensure the stain is absolutely dry, a must. (Note even General Finishes website says it is okay). But whatever works for you, it came out gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous! I have watched a few your flips now, where you say you cannot use water based poly over oil stain. You definitely can. I learned this from my hard wood floor finishers many, many years ago. I have been doing it ever since with no issue at all. That said, you definitely cannot use water based wall paint over oil based wall paint. I hope this helps 🙂
