I’m thoroughly impressed Ken! With a not only your wheel well but all your work in general. Not many people “just a guy in his garage” will put it all out there. The way you bring it all to us through these videos is impressive! Your a very talented man!

"Putting it out there" is exactly how I feel. I know I'm making professionals in these areas cringe... 😄

Check out LizardSkin as the coating you use in the bed area, i love how mine came out. Coated the interior paneling of my taco buggy with lizardskin ceramic heat control and sound control spray liner, works awesome and its simple. Keeps the heat out and the cool in!

Make sure you cycle the suspension front and back with a wheel and tire mounted when setting your bump stops and before you finalize the sheet metal with paint.. and even then you’ll probably have to change some of it or make small adjustments once you test it on a trail.. some lines through obstacles have a strange way of flexing things more than you thought they would lol “hey never mind those deep cuts in my outer lugs that match up with the outer edge of my fenders.. they came like that”

Forging ahead into areas beyond our comfort zone and experience is how we learn. How we deal with setbacks, problems, mistakes and failures on the road to the final result, builds in us the most desirable qualities that defines who we are as a person. You are rocking it Ken!

Wow Ken, you make it look easy! Your patience is paying off big time on this build. You have a team watching and waiting for the final roll out. It amazes me how you are doing all of this just to fine tune your skills for the sculpture work later this year. 🏆 Go for it!

You sure seem to be enjoying yourself working out each part of the build. Always positive, and willing to jump in head first. I bet you can't wait to get it rolling on the dirt trails. I'm looking forward to seeing it's maiden venture if you're not. Lol Keep on doing the great work. It'll pay off a ton.

Looks like you accomplished the "Stretch" just fine. Noticed you opted out on the shock tower bracing.
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
After considering everything it didn't seem worth it. The lower mounts on the axle are held on by relatively nothing... So if that's good enough down there I think the towers are good!

Ken, what is the advantage of having a sway bar? I understand if you're going to have one. The one you have is the best. But why have one if you don't drive on road?
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
It helps control body roll on obstacles, should be more stable, and I like stable!

Get some seam sealer for all the seams on the panels you build so it’s water and dust tight before you bedline it.

Won't you have an issue with petrol fumes in the cab if the fuel filler is in the boot?
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
No. It's a sealed cap. Modern petrol fillers are designed to keep all the fumes in.

Decided to not truss from strut tower to strut tower??? I originally thought you'd not need to as well.. but no mention of it today.
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
After considering everything, I decided not to. The towers are extremely well connected compared to the lower mounts, so the weak point is the lower mount regardless.

What headers other than oem connect to oem exhaust? I got an exhaust leak that makes it sound like it's straight piped.
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
These headers would connect, with some welding. They're made by JBA.

First! That sway bar link and mounting plate looks so flimsy.
@offroadhub.official3 жыл бұрын
The link is steering enough for the job it needs to do. The mounting plate is quarter inch steel, so I think it'll be just fine once it's actually welded on 👍 These Anti rock setups are pretty well respected in the off road world.
