Wow, I was just looking at the horrible colored tissue boxes my husband picked up from a big box store, thinking, "I need to find a way to cover these boxes!! Thank you! As a person who has sewed most of my life, it might be easier to work with the fabric if it was ironed first. I do see that some of the pieces flatten out eventually though!

Cut the opening of the box larger, I even cut a partial opening down the front of the box to make it easier to refill the tissues. Use a heavier weight material. I've had my boxes for over 20 years, no joke.

Lovely idea. I wouldn't use the first two boxes for tissues myself, but lots of other uses. 🙂 I can see my Amazon boxes not going into the recycling bin in the future! 😋

I recover tissue boxes to match my decor, but to make them easier to refill I cut the opening larger before adding material. If you use material that has a heavier weight, that provides extra strength to the box.
