Use some of the trees your clearing to make pond space to build a log cabin on the farthest corner of the pond … put a giant fridge in it giant tv and watch the game in there with the boys after the ponds done !!

Having that clay is a massive win for the pond expansion. So many people want a pond, but don't realise that you must have good amounts of clay or it's going to be super expensive to have a waterproof layer put in, either by trucking in clay or getting a plastic liner. I'd like to see you put in a gazebo/grill area down near the water. Basically a shed with no walls on a concrete slab about 40 feet square.

save those root balls for cover, it will add more natural cover, plus you can also flip them like Bama did, or just put them kinda as is and have a stump field for some jigging

also, you might wanna talk to a marine biologist, and have them help you plan everything out, that way you dont get bass locked again, make sure you have plenty of forage and let them have way to much time to establish, plus maybe get rid of all the catfish, maybe make a secondary area, where your overflow into the swamp is as the "catch and cook" area, oh, and dude you gotta do a grass flat! haha

Put rocks and trees and all that good stuff into the new side of the pond and some pea gravel for the gills you should also put some rocks around the overflow pipe and turn that into a mini spill way thing

Buy floating bridge and make it go to a sweet spot in the pond and use some of the trees they tore down and make cover in the water for the fish

Put a large culvert under peninsula to connect the legs and give the fish a good place to hide in the shade and give you a place to perfect your casting into the pipe

Get a biologist involved to plan it out. Will be the difference between a nice pond and trophy pond. (I have seen both types in northern Ontario, BIG difference with final pond and the maintenance to keep/grow it.)

If you want to dry out the swamp you can take the exrmtra dirt and build a straight a creek straight to the river or bigger creak that the swamp drains into. Build a small dam oon the side of the swamp so the water hits it and flows to the creek use any rocks or gravel they find while digging to put along the bottomand bends to prevent erosion.

I see you are lining the pond and can with clay. Don't add any more crayfish to the waters for Bass treats. The crayfish burrow and can cause leaks in the dam or under the floor undermining the earthworks you just created. You may want to look into fresh water prawn as Bass snackes.

You definitely need to add structure before you fill using the trees you bulldoze in the clearance. You also need to add rock piles in their too.
