Y’all should do a budget fishing challenge where you have to catch your own live bait. Or a challenge where you have to scavenge for lures at your fishing spot and only use those.

Love this idea! At our local fishing holes people leave all kind of baits and lures, especially if you're willing to wade out into the trees a little.

I love the lunkerhunt frog it's not a walking frog, I use it like a real frog. Pop it off the shore in between some pads. Twitch it to look like a frog extending it's legs to swim, pop onto another p ad and repeat until it's time to hang on from the massive explosive blow up. Don't use it like a walking frog. Use it to imitate a real frog. The way a real frog moves. You'd be surprised it works well. It's one of my favorite frogs.

People think all frogs without the popping mouth are walking frogs but that's not true 😂. Some are hopping frogs. You fish it like you're suppose to fish it. They are fish catchers and aren't any less durable than others imo lol

Yeah it's a fantastic lure. It's my go to if I ever frog fish. I will say though the legs are hit or miss. I've had them stay on after catching 50 bass, and I've had them fall off after one. Regardless I love them

That lunkerhunt finesse worm works great. Maybe ease up on setting the hook you don't need to try too pull the fish straight out of the water when hooking it

It’s about an hour away from you but go check out Chewacala State Park near Auburn! One of my favorite weekend spots when I was a student. There’s a nice main lake and then the creek splits in two under the waterfall and I’ve fished down both paths for hours

I have the worm version of the double hook lizard thing. I put lizards on it sometimes. I've never had any issues with it. Caught lots of bass, sunfish, and crappie on it. It's one of my go-to in mid spring.

Why do you not fill your spool on your baitcaster all the way? just wondering.

No need for it. It won´t give you much extra casting distance, unless you actually run out of line during the cast, and you don´t need that for a small pond like that anyways. Also it´s just average bass there, so you won´t need extra line for the fight. So filling the spool all the way gives no advantage. It just makes it more likely to tangle and the tangles can get a lot worse. And if you can´t untangle it, you will loose a lot of line.

Hey lojo! i have fished that place multiple times and never had any good luck fishing that small pond but if you follow that creek down there is a bunch of other fish. Im just 15 minutes from there. Langston, AL

Lojo Before you talk bad about a lure you need to know the true history of The lure . Back in the old days that is how they rigged live worms was rigged with two hooks And a spindle. Back in 1949 Nick Crème came out with Crème 4” pre rigged scoundrel Live worm. Lojo I have seen you fish the crème pre rigged lure twice both times you fished it wrong. The way you fish it is you use a spin cast or spinning tie it to your line with no weight make a cast Let it sink some reel in the slake give it a few twitches keep repeating the process. I’m 51 year old been using the cream rig since I was 8 caught fish back then and I still catch fish today on it

I remember pre-rigged plastic worms with two hooks when I was a kid in the 70s. The rear hook really helps catch the “short strikers.”

so, the BPS branded reels are manufactured by Daiwa with the BPS branding. They're actually half-decent. as for the lunkerhunt frogs; i have a couple, and they really are that frustrating. if it weren't for the fact that the places i fish have the exact type of lillypad formations they were designed for, i'd swap'em out for a spro or scumfrog.

The two hook lizard. They use to make that with a worm back in the day. One of the oldest lures out there. I think they still make the worm.

I have a couple Abu rods, love them. I will never buy another Abu reel. Every one I've owned was junk after a few fishing trips.

People forget the ned rig (lunkerhunt bait) is a finesse lure so has a finesse hook in it you can horse on those hooks 😂. The creme is old school and has been around since the 70s. That rig is a very old school rigging style people just don't use these days. But the rig and soft plastics haven't changed with creme since I was a kid, they catch fish though if you fish them right.

I actually don't use freshwater gear anymore. I use inshore tarpon, snook and Redfish gear for most of my freshwater needs. It's a one time investment that pays off a million times over again. 🔥🔥🔥✔️💯

I have the bass pro extreme xml the 180 dollar version I got for Christmas last year and I’m used to daiwas but it’s been a great rod the handle is lil small as well but for jerkbaits poppers and spooks it’s great

I have noticed that if it’s lunkerhunt in not gonna use it../ when I was less experienced in fishing.. I thought.. wow those look awesome and they’d have to catch so many fish… I have since not even tried them. Non of my other lures even resemble what lunkerhunt does… I still have a dragonfly unopened (I still think that one will catch some fish but that one’s a different story lol )

Just looking at that Lizard, spinner, weedless, BS tells me that it would virtually scare away anything but the biggest bass in my area of Ohio. I tried throwing a 6" lizard (Overall) near some beds and the fish just bolted. Threw on a 4" shad and they instantly attacked. Lojo, Imma say this and you'll understand it. We don't run from danger, we run TOWARDS it. You still got that dog in you because there was ZERO hesitation.

I got a level 10 out of 10 challenge for you! I live in Columbia, Tn and the only place within one hour of myself to fish legally is the Duck River Park. Duck River Park is the site of an old Hydraulic Damn that has been decommissioned. The river is notorious for being bipolar in it's water depth from week to week. The banks are swarmed with brush and trees and the water is a landmine field of large fallen tree logs. Most people wade into the river and walk up to the post side of the dam but the landscape of fishing stores in the area are an unwritten story for how hard or even impossible fishing the river is. You already know the challenge. Do your research and tell the area when, where, and how to be successful in the duck river. Did I mention there is a boat ramp? Did I mention it has a history for containing large Brown and Rainbow trout? Carrot, stick, challenge.....will there be a buttery cookout or are we all just going hungry?

34:24 you just I don't know I don't know what you what what the thing is with cream because cream is they're actually produced in Tyler Texas and you know I'm I'm a Texas boy and and East Texas boy I do believe that it just was not the right situation for the double rigged cream lizard I use the lizard and the worm and the semisaurus roundabout Carolina type rig with a little spinner on the front yeah I throw that a lot in little ponds all around everywhere from Dallas Texas all the way down to Houston Texas over to San Antonio Texas and all points in between especially all through little creeks and ponds all in East Texas and catch bass all the time. Maybe it's just the way you were fishing it. Personally if I ain't running it like a slow spinning bait I'll do an exaggerated pop and long pause off the bottom.

Those old pre-rigged worms and lizards with multiple hooks and spinners you see in old bait shops and convenience stores......catch friggin fish. They look ridiculous and get laughed at a lot but they work shockingly well. Reel right below the surface

I am a tournament angler and I used to use the 1/4 oz power blade and crush fish. I’ve had days where I have gone through 4+ of them. The wire is too thin gauge and bends to easily when catching fish and flipping them into the boat.

Hey LoJo that Combat 🐸 seemed to be the juice until a 3 lber ripped the entire belly open and I had to super glue that sucker and it still sank str8 to the bottom…worst buy by far…get the new Swamp Lord by Berkley instead…smashed a 5 lber this spring on it!
