I have to disagree with your assessment of Jean's legos. The first thing I noticed was the orange piece. I think it is fabulous. It adds a pop of color & quite frankly, it is art. Feel free to disagree--I am an interior designer & my only iron clad rule is that your home should be a reflection of who you are. When a living space involves more than one person (even a whole family) the space should reflect all of the inhabitants. Each is an energy & then there is the energy of the combination of household members. When people come to your home they aren't coming to have an experience of AD. They are looking for an experience of you.

Oh let him have his orange Lego in the living room ffs, it's his house too. The decor isn't going to be 100% "perfect" everywhere and that's OK because you don't literally live inside an Instagram feed

It's coming together nicely! Did your sister get there while you were doing this? I have seen the videos you posted with her, but you were expecting her and then we never heard a thing about her arrival. I think the orange Lego adds a pop of color and personality in the room! Too much of the same gets boring, Jean should be able to feel good with his personal things around him! Congratulations on your new mixer! It is something you will have and use for years and years.

Great video! I love seeing before and afters. I hope you had a nice visit with your sister. Your apt is so cute and I love how you’re decorating it. Everything is looking nice! You said you want a little drink table for the balcony but what if you save space by laying a plate on the tallest pot of the brass planter at the end of the pallet lounge? It might look good as a table in back and potted plant in front Also FYI when buying drapes/curtains measure the width of the window and multiply that measurement by at least 2 to 3 to get the measurement needed for the curtains. Then look at the width of the curtain panel to figure out how many panels are needed to equal that number.

I do have a couple of suggestions. I don't know if it bothers you that your balcony is so close to your next door neighbors balcony, but if it does you can put a "partition" there to give you a bit of privacy. An interesting wood screen would work. This could be natural or you could paint it to add a pop of color. Or you could do a trellis & train a couple of plants to climb it. Or you could hang a pretty shower curtain (water won't bother it) to bring in the softness of fabric, add some color & perhaps an interesting pattern o design on the shower curtain. I now you want to add a headboard to your bed. Again you could put an interesting screen (tri-fold) against the wall behind the bed. You could hang a lush amount of fabric from the ceiling against the wall (great for softening the space & muting sound) With the draperies you could also hang a picture (big enough to create a blanced proportion) by putting the hanger on the wall between 2 panels, hang the picture & let the drapes softly close behnd it. The picture will appear to float against the drapes. In the living room behind the sofa you could get a nice picture of you & Jean (maybe some place you have traveled to, maybe at the place where you met) & have it made into a mural. It could be in color or B & W or a monotone in color of your choice. It could fill the space or be a bit smaller. If it is smaller you could creat a "gallery" of other pictures around it. These could be of you & Jean or of your families or of places you love. You can be really creative--maybe one image in the "gallery" is a calendar page with the date you met. You could also do an oversize mural & then frame other pictures in a white frame that is heavy enough to create a visible separation between the mural & the framed images. They will appear to cut into the mural. This could be done wth ether symmetrical or asymmetrical placement. The mural could be a monotone or a duotone in a color that you like against the green sofa. It has to have enough depth to stand up against the green sofa, but not compete with it. If you do other framed images with it you could do them in a complementary monotone or duotone.

Congratulations yous are doing a great job🌼🌼🌼🌼 for wall near couch you can put wallpaper or pictures frames and blending frames with other types of wall decorations or painting the wall and putting decorations on the wall. The hem on the curtains; donot hem because the style is for the curtains to drop on the floor making it appear luxurious; love the color of curtains; need to move fan to a space like kitchen area so your designs for living room decor would flow; fan looks out of place😊just some small critique for fun 💛💛💛🌼🌼🌼🌼

Maybe it's a strange question - - but, why do you have to have the metal doors on the windows? Do ppl break in to apartments that much in Paris? And, is it something that you close & lock each time you leave the house?
@Ariellelaparisienne

Great question 😂 no we’re not worried about people breaking in, pretty much every apartment in France comes with them and you lower them to keep the sun out during the day ☺️ in our living room we have curtains but not in the bedroom so I keep them shut pretty often

@Ariellelaparisienne
@Ariellelaparisienne Жыл бұрын
Yikes this is a bit of a crazy comment. First of all, jean doesn’t share his storage with me ? We both have separate spaces for our clothes. The reason mine are in the wardrobe is because I obviously have more dresses and skirts and rompers than jean that need to hang because I iron them…. He understand that and it makes no difference to him where his clothes go as long as he has space. If anything it’s more convenient for him to have his clothes in the bedroom whereas mine are in the living room 😅 I don’t make decisions for jean and I by myself, we are a team in every way.

@Ariellelaparisienne
@Ariellelaparisienne Жыл бұрын
At this point we have not purchased any new furniture - everything was from my old apartment. I would ask that you please keep in mind that jean and I do not have a car and must transport all furniture we buy on a bus. Due to the fact that we do not have a car it is quite literally impossible to buy furniture that does not offer a delivery service. We are also furnishing our apartment on a budget. Have you been to the brocantes in Paris ? They are not reduced prices they are beautiful antiques with a price tag that come with it. I would LOVE to source my furniture from here - but it is out of my price range. I would ask that you be mindful - sustainability is extremely important to me and I try to thrift where and when I can. But I simply cannot go and get myself a shelf second hand without a car. And what about our art is not original ? For the moment our art is as follows : vintage gold mirror (thrifted) vintage green glass vase (thrifted) vintage lamp Berger (thrifted) and plants. Please be more mindful of the privilege you have - I would love to furnish my apartment entirely with vintage antique furniture but I do not have the means to be able to do so and it is unkind to tell someone who does not have the means that their apartment is an Ikea college dorm room.
