I am a 52 year old Christian woman and I must say I feel exactly the same as your father. He exudes Christianity as it should be, that above all we love one another and that God doesn't make mistakes and we all have a purpose. God bless your family.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this video this morning! I must've gotten goosebumps at least 4 or 5 times! Your dad is a perfect example of how parents should love their children. He has clearly spent an immense amount of time understanding you and the things you're going through...and committing to a life that puts the happiness of his family members first. What a truly remarkable dad you have!

I'm a mom who's sharing this experience with her child, transitioning also from F to M. Mr. Colby is my hero and I absolutely agree with him. I'm also a Christian who knows that our love for our children is to emulate God's love for us. I'm proud of my son and the man he is becoming. God Bless you both!

I remember my mom telling me I just _killed_ her daughter when I came out. A couple of weeks later she decided not to cope with it and pushed me back into the closet. I was underage and broke so I couldn't do anything about it unless I wanted to end up on the streets without even a possible way of findind a job. So I secretly got referred to a gender therapist and I'm saving up so I can at least live for a few months while I figure out what to do with my life when I do get kicked out. Now that I'm 18 and considered a legal adult I can start my transition without her consent but I don't know what is worse, to live a lie the rest of my life with a family by my side or be myself without any kind of support.

+Emmanuel Didier lol my dad hasn't spoken a word to me in more than a year and my mom still ignores everything and misgenders me 24/7. This isn't even new, I was always a burden to my parents, now they just have a reason and a way to fuck me over. All that's left is dealing with it.

Aw this is so sweet. It's awesome to see such supportive parents. If my future children ever come out as gay or trans or anything else under the rainbow, this is exactly the kind of parent I want to be to him/her. I will never understand parents who are able to abandon and cut out their children for something they can't help.

But I came out to my mom about liking girls and the best part about it was she said exactly "Yeah , I already know" and she was super supportive . People will bully you , say things to hurt your feelings. But as long as you're comfy in your skin is all that matters . Youre amazing Ashton!😊🙊😍

Too funny. I think you both are great. I'm glad you have the strength to be you. My Mom always said it's better to be yourself than to be like everyone else. I know your life must require a lot of courage, and strength, with all the small minds out there. I am wondering, do you find that society in general reacts differently to you as a male, than when you were a female? How long will you and those who have transitioned, still end up telling others that you were the other sex once, especially if the person has had both surgeries at some point? I would think unless it's a romantic relationship, that it wouldn't be anyones business who you were before. Just curious.

When parents reject their kids and then speak like their kids are dead it's so selfish!! most of the time the child has been trying to tell the parent what gender they really are for a long time and was never really a strong in their assigned gender role as the parents assumes. so what that parent is really grieving is not the loss of who that child was but more the loss of who they thought the kid was or was going to be, it's all about their own selfish hopes and dreams for that child! While also being completely oblivious to who that child actually is. Your child is not gone they are perfectly healthy right in front of you begging you to see them but you're too busy grieving over an imaginary child that never existed saying that you miss your fantasy of who you thought that person was. It's so infuriating! some people actually do lose their children and it's an unimaginable pain they'd do everything or anything to get them back for just a moment but here you have an opportunity to have a parent-child relationship and you CHOOSE throw it away! Parental love should be unconditional no matter what because that child didn't ask to be born that's on you and you have a responsibility to them even when it's not easy!

gdcsc dcscs LOL this comment makes me assume you are the type of person who wouldn't believe in global warming even if the leading scientists in the field shook you and told you it was true. This is prime trolling. It has some satirical notes. You almost can't tell if it is sarcasm. This is what I like. I will advise you though, for next time, the use of the word "freak" is where I'm going to have to dock points for originality. Your comment is a strong 8.5/10 though. Bravo!

It's strange that this dads claims to be a Christian yet approves of a unnatural rebellion against God. I'm not going to be mean and purposefully hurtful, but changing your body this drastically and forcing the world (not necessarily ashton but the common-crowd) to conform their wicked ideas is shere madness. I know it seems that way but it's not the key to happiness. A material good could never. Only the water that the son of God provides can truly satisfy our thirst. So as God accepted his cross, so i hope we all will. God bless and love you.
@corbinmcmillen19859 жыл бұрын
+Z0mbicore jesus wants us to be honest, he also wants us to be born again. trans people get born again at least in a physical/symbolical way. some options to think about. keep praying and be humble.

Z0mbicore "unnatural rebellion" : in that case, why was God either so stupid or so viciously cruel to make this young man "rebel"?
