THank you for informing about not cutting a pom too short! This is a big issue! We never trim them more than just the tips just for this reason, because we can damage the coat really bad and it might not grow back. The fur protects from the heat and cold, and a proper brush and blowdry is all they need :D

Hello Anna, Thank you so much for your Message. For the video , this Groomingsession took about 3 hours . but thats for a video , always longer than in the daily routine. The prices is all depending on where you are located . in Belgium this is about 68€ , but also this is an indication . Thank you

Great video! Does a bearded collie have a similar coat? I have bearded collie mix, with coarse coat like this. Not sure if he is double coated tho.

hello Vinoto, well the bearded collie is indeed similar but with a slight different texture as it wil not stand up but more fall down, this is what it say on the standard from the bearded collie : The coat is double with the undercoat soft, furry and close. If you say your dog has like a more coarse coat like the pom I would not recommend to scissor it’s coat short. I hope this was a help

The bearded collie somewhat does have a double coat, and it would be way better protected with the fur its made with. They also have light skin, so they are prone to sun burns aswell if cut too short. The type of bath and blowdry/combing one does on a pom is the same as one would do on a bearded, and I would advice against cutting it short. It could get very soft too if you cut it, and that will ruin the quality of the rough hairs, making it easier dirty, harder to keep tangle free and so on. Get the wool out and keep the fur the length it is, and you will have a much easier bearded to keep than if you shave it down =) It ofcourse depends on what type of mix it is, but in general, if the hairs are coarse, you dont want to cut them at all. Thank you for this! We wanted our sweet boy. We tried a new groomer who shaved him down to the skin. “He was matted”. He wasn’t. . His hair never fully grew back, and he ended up almost entirely bald by the time he went to “college” at only 11 years old.

No, correct. like i mention it in the beginning of the video. this is not te correct way . this is a commercial way of grooming a pom, when the coat is not in shape anymore, or the pon has been shaved . Yes use the medical products before the bath so they dont lick at it and become ill
