The RER (Réseau Express Régional) is a train brand in France, which connects suburbs and the city in a metropolitan area. Transilien is the name of the RER-network located in the Île-de-France region in and around Paris. This network consists of 14 lines, each one of them going to several destinations. Five of these lines actually go through Paris, the other ones just head out of the city.
Line N, which is shown in the video, is one of the other ones. Starting at Paris-Montparnasse, this line serves two other destinations apart from Rambouillet, which are Dreux and Mantes-la-Jolie. It is operated with 160 km/h fast double decker EMUs of class Z57000, built by Alstom and Bombardier and also known as Régio2N. These train also run on TER-connections. There is even a 200 km/h fast model, that is in service as Intercités, a long distant train.
The railway to Rambouillet has a maximum speed of 160 km/h. But this train doesn´t reach full speed, due to the short distance of stops.
