I just bought a 2014 eTech for £2k today. Decent service history on it and it’s a crewcab. Just going to shelve out the rear storage section for our climbing and biking gear, and then put a drop down kitchenette into it as well.

Hi what were the blue clamps on the solar panel? Is the panel bonded to the roof and the clamps removed once secure?
@transitcustomcampers Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, yes, the solar panel is bonded to the roof, the blue clamps are removed once the bond has cured.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm converting a SWB crew van but not fitting a pop roof. Have you ever done one, and how do you finish the interface between ply roof lining and front seats roof interior...? TIA, Martin.

Hi Martin, the easiest way is to create and carpet an infill panel from ply. That can be attached to the ply on the roof and to the trim at the B Pillar. Not sure if we have a photo I am afraid.

@@transitcustomcampers Many thanks for your advice. I was thinking something similar butchering the old rear cab roof liner and carpet that. Only issue the large depression for the coathook fixings :(. Thanks again. (Sending an order for a diesel heater your way soon)

What would be a rough cost for this conversion?
@transitcustomcampers Жыл бұрын
This particular van, with the diesel heater & awning was around £13500. A SWB conversion starts at around £12000
