This is outstanding. Basically explained my progression exactly. Started golf with too much yanking it with my left side, countered that getting more in to out but ended up getting under plane and timing the face, hitting it longer but with a two-way miss. Most instruction has just moved me between these two faults. I knew what I was doing all along but couldn't stop and find that middle ground with the correct transition, bent right arm etc. Your videos are different though and you really explain this very simply but clearly with a deep level of understanding. I am now hitting that elusive impact with open hips, bent right arm, great contact. I was already almost there but your videos have really helped clarify the concepts behind it and have helped me get over the hardest, most frustrating and long-standing hurdle in my learning so far. Liberating!

I am in the same boat as you were when you posted this. Is this feel and body movement still working for you?

@@loui553 Hey man. Parts of my swing have probably evolved in other ways since then but this type of feel is still useful for me as I fall back into switching between these engrained movement patterns.

@@Chris_Traynor awesome, thanks for the response. I have a really hard time rotating through without getting dumped under to get an inside swing path. Really trying to get the trail elbow inside. Pushing hips back and squatting in transition helps but feels horrible.

I can relate. What helped me with stopping getting dumped under was keeping the arms ‘in front’ but still coming from the inside. I particularly like how its explained in a KZbin video by Milo Lines golf called How to keep the arms in front of you. Also he has a video called ‘My favourite drill for... blah blah blah’. In that he talks about how getting the arms/wrists/club in a good spot allows you to rotate more so you never get ‘dumped under’. He describes it as the body motions feeling ‘over the top’ but with the structure of the arms trailing. Check it out. It may help. I personally really like his instruction. Best of luck!🤙🏻

Keeping the left side lower longer in transition and using your obliques to do it is huge! Has helped w my EE. I think of putting my left shoulder in my left front pocket after the Jackson 5

I’d like to see an explanation of the oblique usage for the backswing too.
@thomasfraser90723 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike: Gently tilt and turn your upper body with your lead side obliques as you are swinging your club back with your hands, arms, and shoulders; because your obliques connects your upper body transversely to your lower body; allow your lower body to respond automatically as it should. The downswing is simply crunching and turning with your obliques and everything else will follow to the end of your swing; including your lagging club head going directly to your ball. At age 74 i discovered it is that simple and I call it my Crunch & Turn Golf Swing Cheers
@thomasfraser90723 жыл бұрын
Just Crunch & Turn first with your lead side obliques and then with your trail side obliques. It that simply once you know the fundamentals. Cheers

Yeah with a good backswing that gets the hips in the correct position - like enough hip hinge for a full turn and engage the glutes to stay in posture, then a “sit down” will do the hip bump and crunch and turn at the same time will pretty much get you automatically rotating on plane

For practical application, in the transition and downswing, firm and flex your abdominal muscles and swing the club with the arms through as fast as you can.
