It looks like I put Greek into Times New Roman (as far as I remember). In my recent videos I switched to Gabriola, Accordance, and a few other fonts. So thanks for your feedback, I may reconsider and go back.

Hello Leo, You asked a very good question. It's a big project which takes me too long to complete. Honestly. It's like that unfinished tower in the middle of the vineyard. So, I just requested 3 months off purposefully to finish the Greek Quest course. March-Apr-May I'm working on it full time. By God's grace, I hope to complete it some time in May.

Can you answer why there are two subjects in this passage. Joseph and Jesus. thx [Mat 1:16] And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
@GreekForAll
@GreekForAll 6 ай бұрын
This sentence has 2 main verbs (so two clauses), that’s why there should be 2 subjects. 1. Jacob is the subject of the first clause 2. The 2nd clause has no explicit subject but it is implied in Joseph (as you noticed). Jesus is not the subject of the 2nd clause but a predicate nominative. It is the intermediate Greek (syntax) where we learn that nominatives can play other roles besides being the subject. The words “to be” and “to become” (ginomai) require 2 nominatives: one is subject another one is predicate. Here Joseph is subject, Jesus is predicate. Check Daniel Wallace syntax book “Greek beyond the basics” the chapter on nominative case, subtitle “predicate nominative.” All the best.

@GreekForAll

The original Greek manuscripts of the Bible have NO punctuation (no commas, periods, question marks and etc). They were added by scribes centuries later.

Hello my friend what is the Greek word for the number 821 x
@GreekForAll
@GreekForAll 6 жыл бұрын
Hello Carol, your question is interesting and a little tricky. First, I only specialize in Koine Greek. Second, there is no ONE single word for the number 821, same as in English, it is a combination of several words. Third, number one has a gender, thus, can be Masc, Fem, or Neuter. I also specialize in working with ancient texts with Greek into English translations and not the other way around. I haven't encountered the numbers 821 in the manuscripts I work with yet. In this light, I can provide my best educated "answer-guess" (otherwise, contact modern Greek specialists): the numbers 821 could be written as ΩKA (Ω=800, K=20, A=1), second way: ὀκτακόσιοι εἴκοσι εἷς. Why did you ask this question?

well maybe not related but the church really needs to teach its people church history and greek it can't be just seminary 42 when a person loses a limb to amputation very often almost in a high proportion of the cases after the surgery the person will tell the surgeon i still feel my hand it's still there and and they can look at it look at the stump and see that it's gone and that it's an illusion they know consciously consciously that it's an illusion but they have this intuitive certainty that their hand is still there this is called the phantom limb and it's i'm sure many of our listeners have heard about it it's been written about a lot bc it is such a common phenomenon and such a striking phenomenon is this bc you've always felt that limb and so you don't know how to not feel normal yet you haven't you haven't learned Aron Ra The Phantom God
