I did a transmission fluid change with it hot I put in 5 to 6 quarts and it seems like it wants more

how was the level prior to draining? do you still have what you took out? if it has cooled, check volume now?

@@workingdad I changed out last night then I drove with it around for a little bit what it was doing and I noticed this while driving The RPMs Felt like they were light as if it was too easy for them to be moving I usually throw a hint of is some Lucas transmission additive but never too much because of viscosity but I’m sure that the old oil the oil becomes a little bit heavier so the Lucas additive viscosity it’s just as heavy as old oil but it’s like a form of heat protection for the gears however I do recall if you put too much some of that dirty stuff that’s in the transmission Will get to places that you don’t want to have it so I’ve always known to not put too much additive , i’ve done multiple transmission oil changes on my vehicle sometimes I just look back to reflect on how many quarts I need I always buy more than I need and I ended up using all of them I have 6 quarts I used 5.5 of them with .3 Lucus additive originally I thought I had overfilled but when I let it cool off overnight it showed that I was low but I was still in range so right now I’m gonna fill it up by .5 let it sit and see what it becomes

@@workingdad so my update is that I was short on oil the best way to check when it’s cold is to tilt the dipstick on its side and it will show that line more thoroughly because for Lincoln dipsticks it has a round thickness to the metal dipstick allowing us the turn it side giving us a more visual reading , now time to burn my shit out ✌🏼

Suggestion is to do it by weight, not volume. Expansion is not relevant if weight added equals weight removed.
