I have seen several teardowns and or rebuilds, but I still really know nothing about automatic transmissions aside from clean fluid is your best friend and don't get them hot if you want it to live. I am very much a manual transmission guy, but that's pretty much all done anymore as everything has gone auto-tragic. Yes, they have their place, but it is much more fun to me to shift gears. Definitely breakdown the sections and maybe explain the individual jobs they do. We all know everything lives inside the case, and is driven by the torque converter which is turned by the flywheel via the crankshaft.

A agree shifting gears is more fun, but automatics are generally faster at just that. Heat will kill a manual also if it gets too hot, seen it. Plus you don't wear out your left leg in traffic with an automatic...lol. It's really a matter of preference...

Hey Smitty, I was hoping you could tell me what brand your transmission mount is? Keep up the good work. 👍
@IrocinZ4 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the bench mount for the transmissions? If so, its an actual GM tool.
@campbelljosh044 жыл бұрын
@@IrocinZ Yes I was. Yours looks well mad compared to some of the copies that you can purchase online.

Will a 700r4 from a 1993camaro work or fit a 1989 iroc
@IrocinZ4 жыл бұрын
Physically it will fit. However, 1993 should be a 4L60e as that is when they started putting electronic controls on the transmission. It would not have a Throttle Valve Cable.

Got a motor and transmission the motor has opti spark cam driven water pump transmission has the tv cable that's why I been wondering thanks for your help
@IrocinZ4 жыл бұрын
@@daleeisenberger8360 Well, anything is possible. That was the transition year so the answer to your original question is yes. Since it has a TV cable, it will work.
@milesczechowski21544 жыл бұрын
Now is this the 4l60? And if it is or isn';t is the 700r4 just like the newer auto they put in the 4th gen f body cars? Thanks
@IrocinZ4 жыл бұрын
No, this is the 4L80e, its bigger brother. I will be going through a 700R4 in the next couple of videos. I'm showing a 4L80 because it's a popular swap in the camaros when the capacity of a 700R4 is exceeded.
