Currently attempting to replace the input speed sensor on my wife's 2012 gmc terrain fwd. Other than the outside looking slightly different, the internals look to be identical. I'm very nervous to do this job myself, it's my 1st tranny tear down. This was very very helpful, thank you very much!!!!

For anyone that has this question. The answer is no. I swapped the TCM on my 2014 Chevrolet Sonic with one from a 2017 Chevy Sonic; no programming required. It took about a week for the shifting to get back to normal though.

@@soldado141 you should, when you remove the old one and find a replacement take both to a transmission shop where they will use the program from your old one and move it to the new one, may cost you a case of beer....5 min job but very important

Very informative. I have some questions My friend drives 2013 Cruze. The transmission slips in drive. The computer did not give any codes. So, I assumed that it needs transmission. But, he still drives the car. I checked the fluid level, it was okay. So does it need the TEHCM?

if your replacing the control body assembly and therefore need to remove the tcm board does it require a rap kit since you are only re installing the original tcm ?

Hi friend am fro Baghdad I have Terrain 3.6l 2013 SLT .MY TRUCK MOVES VERY SOFT 1st and 2nd and reached rpm 4or 5 to shift the 3rd what you think is it the solenoid or the clutches..it started when I flashed the old oil changed it with new one .thanks waiting for your response.

I have chevy cruze (Daewoo Lacceti) 2010 model from South Korea, I had issues with the automatic transmission for some time and I decided to convert it to manual transmission. The conversion has been done but my auto electrician is not able to start the engine for me. We have consulted other auto electrician available but it seems they are clueless. The diagnostic machine detects there is break in communication with the TCM. Any help?

Did you ever get it started? May have to reprogram the ecm or get from a donor car and get the safety switch for the clutch, or whatever it’s called to start.

Usually the solenoids don't even need replaced unless they burned out. A proper cleaning is sufficient to make them operate again. A solenoid is merely a piece of metal being moved by a coil via electromagnetism. Not much to go wrong
