I had intended to show the double picket in this video as a sample with the oxidized metal paper clip in my previous video, but I got side tracked. Here are two easy ways to make pockets using transparency film, both with and without sewing the pieces together. Thank you for watching and happy creating.

Cori, I have had such a great time using scraps and when I watch a project, I take a reminder pic and make at least one. Now, I have created many more pieces to include in cards or journals, and for this, I once again thank you so very much. You’ve been a godsend with building my box of pieces to use. May your surgery go without a hitch! 💐

Hi Cori! Been playing catch up on your videos. Love this idea! Whenever I sew something slippery (or clingy) I put a piece of newsprint paper (or something like construction paper) under the two pieces I’m connecting. After sewing, I fold the paper at the seam and carefully remove it…regular copy paper works too, and may be preferable for this application since it’s thinner so the threads would be tighter. Thanks for sharing! 💕

Hi Cori, I just discovered your channel and I love your style! I skimmed over the comments and didn’t see any mention of Stitch & Tear (apologies if someone already mentioned it), but it makes sewing over plastic so much easier. The machine thinks it’s sewing fabric so it’s less likely to slip - then you just tear it away once your sewing is finished. It’s great stuff!

What about placing a piece of paper under the transparency while you machine sew it so it's not as slippery. You can then pull the paper away when the sewing is done. It might work better for you.

These are great. I haven’t tried yet, but I recently bought a laminator. Could you laminate dried flowers? Or will they mess up the laminator? Just thought maybe you had tried. I’m just thinking we could laminate a whole page of little dried flowers, and then sew transparency on the back of them for the 2nd pocket? Another great idea. Thanks for sharing and teaching! Love ya!!
@CoriDahmen
@CoriDahmen 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jamie. Yes, I’ve laminated dried flowers. Because the idea with laminate is to “suck together” I’ve found that anything not completely flat creates air bubbles in the laminated surface. Flat things do great, but I’ve had less luck with anything that has bulk.

Hi You are so Talented and I am fairly new to Journaling ...I have a question on what type of transparency plastic brand you use and your scrapbook paper brands you use alot ..Thank You So Much
@CoriDahmen
@CoriDahmen 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Linda and welcome! I use an d box of transparency, and I don’t know that brand matters as much as thickness. I think between 3-5 mil would be thick enough without being too thick, but that’s just based on my use. Other sizes could work well too. I like working with thicker paper do I use a lot of cardstock or extra thick copy paper. Tim Holtz, 49 and Market, Graphic. 45, Mintay and Carta Bella are a few of my favorites with junk journaling.
