This guy is AWESOME!! So passionate, educated, and willing and able to help others where the beginner can understand. I had the privilege to visit earthworks and the place is amazing, huge, with an organized lay out with every species in their own area with MANY of each to choose from

Hello David just to let you know you have had such an impact on my mother that she has managed to grow palm trees in her 4th floor apartment in The Bronx. She has had her plants for more then 20 years. Now that I have located you on youtube I will ensure to have her follow you for your vast knowledge on anything trees. Karen N.

Thank you for taking the time and doing these videos. I’m in South Ga and in the process of planting a ton of palms in my back yard. So far I have cabbage and Sylvesters planted and queens potted until they mature enough to be transplanted around the pool.

I have 2 palm trees , they are about 15ft similar to what you have there, but probably half as tall or even shorter. I planted them when I did not know anything about palms about 20 yrs ago. They are now leaning because of the location they are in and I am worried a storm wind will blow them down They were planted in a raised bed and the roots are very prominant above the soil. This palm have a very sharp thorn like spikes, can I replant them in large pots and how large if so.

We just put 4 palm trees in our property this size. What fertilizer or root stimulant do you suggest. We get wind storms where we live in Washington State- should our palms be stakes higher that what you show here?

How much water should I water a 6 ft clear trunk Sylvester that's just been transplanted a few weeks ago? I feel like I've been underwatering. When we don't get good rain I water about 5 gallons a if soil isn't moist

Where is this??what type of soil do you have. Do you also have clay or compacted soil?
@EarthWorksJax Жыл бұрын
Northeast Florida, Our soil can be pretty sandy near the beaches, and richer by the river but nothing compacted. Easy digging!

@EarthWorksJax we have to amend our soil often times in Seattle. I have a cul-de-sac island that is burmed up so it gets good drainage I think 🤔

transpiration is when plants release water from the leaves not the roots
@davidcasella29344 жыл бұрын
Kort, Thank you for catching my error! I left out information, meaning when a palm is root prunned then transplanted, the roots no longer have groundwater to absorb. Transpiration occurs in aerial parts (above the ground level) from the palm, evaporation/transpiration of water can occur from the trunk, leaf bases (petioles) and leaves (fronds)! Thank you for watching Earth Works Jax KZbin channel, stay tuned for more videos in the future.
