Transplanting matured and old peppers that are already fruiting...

We planted this chilli peppers over 3 months ago and we have even started harvetsing but they seem to be struggling under the direct and intense sun so we decided to relocate all of them to under a shade net.
Let's watch and see how they turn out the next couple of week.
In the interim we are also starting the nursery replacement for them of they don't do well

Chilli can still manage under the heat and direct sunlight... You might need to up the irrigation to help them thrive in the heat.. Chilli will convert fruits under long hours of direct sunlight.

Chilli's are naturally tough and can resist harsh weather conditions as they are shrubs. I don't think the labour required for moving the matured plants with earth around the root zone will commensurate with its general output eventually. Irrigation, Even if it is mild, would have saved a lot of stress in my opinion. Well-done sir!

Good to know. I am even more encouraged... Someone said chillis don't do well under shade net. They keep producing leaves and not much fruits. Is this your experience too???

@@kunzski Yes, they don't do well under shade, they will just be tall with few fruits. I forgot to add that I transplanted mine from a site to another site without carrying any sand along. Just normal uprooting and replanting. It was done in the evening

Why are you not doing bell pepper inside the shade net, did you have bacteria wilt issues?

I tired Bell Peppers last year and struggled with keeping it Thrips free. Won't be doing it again until I get a grasp on how to deal with Thrips. If you have a full proof solution, I am happy to learn...
