Your intercity train lines are coming along nicely, I might suggest making it a loop. You already nearly have a full circle already, and would allow for one lane to go clockwise and the other lane go counterclockwise, instead of all this back and forth. As for connecting the east and west halves of the map, trains would probably make more sense, but you know we want more planes :D

I work closely with Internal Logistics. The plane making that much money makes sense, the same cargo from Malaysia to Canada will cost me 3000$ by boat, but 25000$ by plane. Sometimes it's worth the cost because our clients needs stuff in an extreme rush. You need to pay that much more to have it in 3 days instead of 3 weeks.

25 years is not very old for a train. IRL we still have loads of those 1950s Nohab diesel driving around all over Europe, after running for many, many thousands of hours. EAST TO WEST Connection: I think Mitcheldean to Ludgershall is a smarter play. You've already got a line going to those two northern towns on the west side (Worthing and Biggleswade) into/from Mitcheldean. By adding a line from Mitcheldean to Ludgershall you bring in those two northern towns - population can go from Worthing to Mitcheldean and change trains to Ludgershall. Then they can ride that line through the four towns. There's less water to cross at that point. Then a line from Twickenham to Worthing connects those two northern towns to that main line too. This gives you two ways to get the north into Twickenham/Ludgershall area. You will also linked all west and east. Then a line from Loughton to Mitcheldean brings that in line with access south towards Bradford, and to the west out of Mitcheldean.
@stephenmurray98503 жыл бұрын
The only thing about planes is the capacity of the airport to handle multiple lines at once, at least until you get the chance to put 2 runways in otherwise you get that problem of the planes been "waved off" . Also Bradford is too central and the planes will only have "short" hops from one place to the other therefore not paying as good. I think trains are the way to go for the moment . Great series , love watching your game play. Thanks.

You could always make a pax line from ludgershall to Bradford via a train line that parallels the cargo line across the river. I would also create a line like you mentioned linking Mitchelldean, biggleswade, worthing, twickenham but have it start in Bradford you would then have 2 connections east to west and all cities would then be connected with pax. I should also mention I was saying "you demolished the road" when trying to figure where the break was.

Connecting to the left to right, I'd add two extra tracks to the bridge already in place as FL's then add a connection to Henley instead, seams like the easier and more practical idea
@taoheron2823 жыл бұрын
If you connect a rail route from michldeen to ludgershall, that will be the connection; cause both are connected to either side and it won’t effect the shipping route to much since it will be moving over a smaller body of water compared to if it went over the massive section of water therefore could also reduce the price of creating the rail since there won’t be as much bridge used. I really do enjoy your videos and everything about them thx for the entertainment 👍

@Rebelassassin13 жыл бұрын
Squirrel; For your east to the west line over the water is to find a spot that less mass of water; So head south from Bradford and smooth cut back east over the less body of water in the south, After Crossing east smooth cut back to the north where you wanted to connect. The second Idea is to head north from the existing line and head over the bottleneck over the water just north of Bradford. Overall, I'll be looking at buying the game to play as well and I've enjoy watching yours videos.

I would connect Micheldean to Lugisol (I know the spelling there is atrocious). It's a relatively thin part of the river and gives you a natural bridge. You could also expand the various seaports and run a ferry line in the south. I had a desert map with some isolated cities and ran a passenger train to a ferry stop to connect them. Wasn't the most efficient but it made for a nice touristy city (electric trams and all) and it looked cool as anything.
@tootzmcgee71443 жыл бұрын
As you said, I don't think the distances on this map are long enough for an airport. You could run shuttle trains to airports on opposite ends of the map? I forget which cities that would entail. Not really sure how I'd approach air passenger services here with the size of the map and clustering of large cities.

Some thoughts on the passenger trains: - extend the Thatcham to Romsey line down southeast to Princes something or other via that other place down there where there is a shuttle service if memory serves me correctly. - use the million dollar track at Bradford and connect it to the Leigh line. - use the beginning of the Leigh line and bend it to the east of Leigh and make a shuttle service Bradford-Leigh-Romsey, cut the busses. - make Bradford-Mitcheldean to Ludgershall or Twickenham connection and skip Leigh. - or go direct Bradford-Ludgershall and continue to Twickenham. - Or use that hovercraft to connect Ludgershall with Bradford, with perhaps a bit of bus service to the watrerside thrown in.It is different. - finally, connect that short shuttle service at Worthing to Twickenham.

I just bought the game and was playing the campaign where I was to use the Red Arrow to chauffeur Mr. Churchill around Switzerland. Waited 3 in game years for it to unlock, but low and behold, I forgot the multiple units category. Love this game already. But if you want to connect Bradford, you could run a line south to connect to Henley instead. Also, the trainline you built at 39:21 have a train front and a train back. That is mighty expensive. Did you mean to do that, because it seemed a little like a misclick.
@DoubleJJizzle3 жыл бұрын
What I like doing the most, is using a variety in my transportation methods. Trains going to boats, going to busses, etc etc. So to me, my thoughts on how you combine the two together, is by training them out to the coast, boating them across to the other side, and busing them to the city.

to connect left to right side do either a train from Bradford (go up further on the river and not at the widest part of the channel) into Twickenham, or passenger plane from Bradford to one of the left side upper cities. (maybe put the two airports right next to each other) then just use a train line from the left- northern cities to Twickenham. I can see Twickenham becoming a new left-side hub.

@Punnikin19693 жыл бұрын
An airport hub at Bradford linking not only East and West but serving as a central hub for all cities would probably allow air transport to all cities fairly easily as well as a central hub for cargo moving forward. Considering the size of the map, a central hub would make it easier to move goods to the proper locations and in higher quantities. I can see your smaller outlying cities benefiting hugely from that. At this point, making money off a single air transport line is almost secondary. With more efficient infrastructure you could better supply cities with goods and passengers and also clean up the map by removing superfluous train cargo lines.

I would make an X plane line and a five-city star line... Worthing to Princess already has an airport, put pax on it as well... another one from Sandhurst to Maplethorpe (right? the city in the top right corner)... After that have an airport in Bradford and connect all five cities with a few big 747s, A five-city star-line... Bradford-Maplethorpe-Worthing-Sandhurst-Princess Star line... This way you get diagonals covered with 2 lines and 1 mega line being common connecting Bradford to rest airports, the more you travel the more profitable the line gets... That's how I play, 4 airports at corners and one in the central "capital" city...

3:00 where you discuss the areas where you are and are not delivering fuel to is incorrect. The shades of the colours relates to the level of the building not the supply of materials. If supply is good the building will level up and then it's supply will be poor and you will need to continue supply at a higher rate. You will have seen building demolished and replaced and when they are the total requirement for the goods increases and the number representing supply is decreased. This is a quote from the TF2 Wiki. "All houses are painted according to their use and level. residential houses are highlighted in green color, commercial houses are blue and industrial compounds are yellow. The higher the level of the house, the more saturated is the color."
