Great video tackling one of Columbus' foremost shortcomings!!!. For the "How* to build the "light rail," it can be done in sky bridge style like the one in Seattle and other cities! The engineers can come up with the best way possible!

@@LivingtheColumbusWay Columbus needs an elevated train system like Chicago with commuter rails to smaller towns in the Metro region of Columbus

The cota buses stop running at 10pm. You have to add time on when the bus arrives at the bus stop.

In your opinion, what is the most challenging them relying on COTA for transportation?

It's kinda depressing seeing European cities with way less people than Columbus have better public transportation. Also, I really wish the city would also add a ton of protected bike lanes and possibly something similar to Atlanta's belt line.

My wife was born in Columbus, OH and i was born in Cleveland, OH where only the GCRTA buses run 24/7 not the trains but COTA stopped running at 10pm.

COTA could do better/longer hours. We need ridership up though

Wrong traffic sucks in Columbus with average backups 3-4 miles of bumper to bumper.Major streets like East Broad St could take you as long as 40 minutes to go half miles to one mile near mt Carmel East.Near all interstate splits could congest for 20-30 min delay

Not my experience at all. Sure, Columbus has bad traffic compared to Chillicothe but not compared to Cincy for instance. That said, there are for sure bottle necks at certain areas/times of day.

I actually I've in Houston and Columbus ... Public transportation here is completely sub par we need rail. Brt is an antiquated solution and will not be heavily utilized. This lack of investment in public transportation will definitely impede the city's growth .

This is my fear as well. I don't think BRT is radical enough

Columbus needs to model their self after Chicago they need more commuter rails from smaller towns like Delaware to the north Circleville in Centerville to the south and they all need to join up in Columbus because building another highway will cause more suburban sprawl and then not to mention you’re putting more cars on the highway in on the roads so that’s more drunk drivers more accidents and then not to mention the snow which Columbus is not a good city when it comes to snow because Columbus doesn’t shovel the snow as it falls on the ground they wait till it stops snowing and then shovel everything so the best bet is commuter rails in a more strong boat, robust public transit you have to think about the winter
