That's what happens when you opt out for the cheapest less reputable carriers instead of going with a carrier that charges more and takes care or your stuff, like me.

The engine will be absolutely fine. Its simply the ancillary pieces pipes radiators etc. Bigger problem is the bodywork and gearbox. Bodywork is a HUGE mess and will require a lot of costly repair. If the gearbox is anything other than standard its an issue as it would require a rebuild rather than a replacement. Interior is mint. Overall cost however will be significant and makes it a write off.

I'm happy that you were able to tell from the video that the motor block didn't get crack, I myself would have thought there was a good chance it did, but I'm not a pro like you that can tell something like that from this video

Sorry for your loss man. I had a 97 W140, put so much time and money into it to restore it. Just 2 weeks after it was done and I was ready to have exciting adventures with it, I was rear ended by a drunk driver in a rental bmw and my car was declared a total loss. It was really hard for me to say goodbye to it.

Like your man said…unless the block is cracked the motor is fine! The only way the motor gets ruined is if you run the motor before going through it…holes in an oil cooler is minimal…remove the broken pieces…flush the system and you will be just fine. Don’t get me wrong I understand wanting to have a “pure” car when it is of this caliber but it isn’t junk by ANY means…every car is just an assembly of parts…replace the bad parts with hood parts and you will still have a great car…sometimes the knowledge of knowing the damage is more of a problem than the damage itself.

ngl, ive felt like this for about 2 years. i bought a chevy ss and the push rods were 7.6, aka not spec for the engine in the car, 30k miles of me not knowing this and the engine blew up. then the place i took the car to have fixed, gutted it when all i said was remove engine and tell me the damage. they removed the drive shaft, mufflers, etc. i might have my car back before valentines day, it will be down a full year come april if not. #tired. i feel your pain brother. gl gb.
